Stock Wheel Touch-Up
Stock Wheel Touch-Up
I posted in Show & Shine and should have posted here. I won't drop the whole story here. I just need to know the best way to touch up roughed-up stock wheels. Will they oxidize quickly? just sand and paint??? Paint with what? Sealant?
Thanks for any and all input!
Peace!

I've had this problem and never got a great answer. Many have spoke of professional wheel repair shops.
I used a dremel to smooth out the rough spot and mixed my own paint using testors model paint. Don't laugh, it is decent paint. Testor's silver is close to our wheel color. I added a small amount of black and it seems to match well. You can still see the scuff if you are looking for it, but it is tons better.
The wheel won't oxidize, they are aluminum underneath the paint and will be fine if left open to the air.
That's what I did--so far, so good.

No, it's a different shade of silver. When the Enkeis are clean, they're a brighter shade of silver. I have my dealer/service guy looking for a factory touchup paint for the rims. I'll keep everyone posted.
