Yeah, I think it can be prevented by just maintaining the engine properly. Good to see a 3 being taken care of, they're awesome cars. Love the RPF1's too.
Seems you ran in to the same issue as I did with my IV project though lol...tire size limitations. I'm running the Brembo's which means I'm stuck with 17in wheels
making sizing even worse. I can't run anything wider than a 215 and that rubs a little as it is. Oh well, I love it anyway!

Yeah tire sizing for the 1-4 suck!

I may have sold the RPF01's. Just for the sake of not having to deal with the bastard 4x114.3 lug pattern. I have some 1g front hubs lined up and already have the Evo4 rear hubs. If the sale does go through i will probably end up getting some 17x9 rota grids and some ZG flares

I went with the custom FD caliper setup because i really won't need any more than that and it's WAY lighter than the later Evo factory brembo's.

Your conversion seem's to be progressing well

One of the best models ever IMHO. Here are a couple that are for sale where I'm at and I'll tell you now, they are calling the dollars from my wallet

Those flares look awesome! I dunno if they'd look good on the 4-6 body style though. I've been considering the 5/6 flares and front fenders, but I dunno... Some S13 fender flares might not look bad either...

I think raceonusa does the 5-6 replica's and the rear kit works quite well on the 1-3. The problem is the price. That money is better spent on anything that will make me go faster, stop shorter or turn better.

I'm thinking about something like this:

I think they would be alot cheaper as I wouldn't have to make new front fenders.

Those are the same flares Alchemist.

The car cost me KYD$6500 which works out to be like like US$7800

Realized i haven't updated this in a while!

I ordered a bunch of **** to finish the car.

AFCO scirocco radiator, tons of fittings for fuel/oil, gaskets, clutch disc and some exhaust bends

Got some pictures. Turns out i suck at bending brake lines.

I had to weld the proportioning valve bracket to the Cusco master cylinder brace bracket to drop the proportioning valve down so the Cusco bracket would fit. Then i had to rebend one of the feed lines to the proportioning valve to clear the other half of the Cusco brace.

The pedal assemblies are drying after i ospho'd them last night and painted them

Picked up some parts I sent to my brother. The cylinder head was sent to Dover Cylinder Head’s in Orlando for a resurface and clean up

So fresh and so clean

Bead blasted

Damned near mirror finish

The Kiggly HLA regulator in its new home

Got back on the rock and did some minor assembly of a few parts.

New front brake lines

Oil pressure sender for the gauge and the line that runs to the OFH. I will clamp the sender to the frame rail.

The AEM FPR and Russell/Marshall gauge assembled with all the port fittings and plug

Had to enlarge the 2 outer slots for the M10 bolts as they only make this for the 6 bolt head which uses M8 bolts all around

150 amp breaker and jumping posts

OEM turbo drain gasket next to a -12AN fitting. -10AN is actually a little smaller than the stock drain ID

The OEM gasket over the -12AN fitting, a PERFECT fit[/QUOTE]

Got the bottom end assembled today and all is within spec! Mains are 0.0015” and the rods are 0.0020”

The inner front balance shaft bearing is still fighting me tooth and nail so I built up some weld on a 32mm socket and am having that turned down on a lathe to make tool.

The stroker crank will NOT clear the oil squirters. So much to my dismay i have gotten 4 12x1.25mm bolts that I need to cut down and pair up with some crush washers and red loctite to block them off.

I also got the fuel rail and the thermostat inlet/outlet have had their fittings welded

The fuel rail will be powder coated wrinkle black

-16AN fittings welded onto the thermostat housing inlet/outlet

I drilled the 2 holes for the -8AN fittings on the valve cover. Tonight i need to open up the oil filler hole 1mm so that the new filler cap's female end can slot in there and get welded. Tomorrow those and the radiator will get their welding done.

I also ground down 2 sides of the -12AN weld bung so that i have some space to fit the bolts in there but i will still end up using allen head bolts for that (only needed on the turbo side as the other -12AN bung will be welded directly to the oil pan)

The BAD news. I need to pull the valve train apart again and lap the valves some more.

The WORSE news. I lost ONE ARP head stud nut.

The GOOD news, the nut gets here on the 8th of novermber so I have enough time to lap the valves lol

Got some work done today

Drilled the holes for the intercooler mounts, mocked up the radiator and threw the fenders and bumper back on for a picture. I ended up having to cut the 90* outlet off the end tank and will run a coupler to clear the drain petcock on the radiator.

Where the oil cooler will go

More than enough room to fit

Template for my fan shroud for two 9" Maradyne HP 790cfm fans

The -12AN fitting was fouling on the compressor housing so i welded another stock drain flange on and got the clearance I needed

Check valves and a PCV valve delete fitting for the valve cover to intake manifold side

Woot! Wrinkle black goodness more later

Today I finished the radiator shroud

I used some A/C ducting tape to help the foam seal everything. Once i get the motor in and all the fluid coolers bolted up i will be buying a roll of aluminum flashing and some tin snips to do the ducting. The only real ducting i see that i need to do is to the oil cooler and maybe some flat block offs over the end tanks.

It appears i will have a relatively large opening in the grill on the driver’s side of the radiator to use for an intake duct. Need to find some foam block to carve that out.

Thanks I am really hoping that I can make the 400whp and at least 375wtq mark on pump gas.

UPS should be showing up some time this afternoon with my air filter from Perrin. Ordered on the 5th, shipped on the 7th and it gets on island on the 9th. I guess it should considering UPS charged more for shipping than i paid for the filter *facepalm*

I got some other stuff from a friend last night that did an extremepsi order.

OEM middle timing cover, Jayracing alternator relocation kit, another balance shaft bearing (incase i ***** up another one trying to press it in the hole in the middle of the block), a fuel rail spacer (lost one) and 2 ARP head stud nuts (lost one and got one as spare).

Tomorrow i re-relap the valves and try to sweet talk that balance shaft bearing.
