My Evo VIII VIII'th Year Anyversary Is Up In A Few Weeks

I thought I would celebrate the 8th year with my Evo by sharing a few words and pictures of it with the EvoM gang.

I got the car in July 2004. It turned out that the salesman I got it from was my High School budy as well.

The car had 3.8 miles when I took delivery of it.

It has ben a sweet ride ever since.

I did not start moding the car until after it had 17K miles, and the stock clutch lasted me 26K miles.

First mods were intake, exhaust, fuel pump, tune and boost controller.

Fast forward to today, the car has close to 100K miles and it has allways been my daily driver.

The car still looks great despite allways exposed to the elements. Mitsubishi really did a great job.

We are lucky to own one of this machines.

Everyday I get compliments on the car. From school kids to homeless persons. They all love the Evo. It has been this way since day one.

Making 507 whp and 435 Tq. on the FP Red, it has gone 11.1@124 mph. It can go 10's but it has not seen the track in about a year.

I have some plans for it by the end of the year.

For now, since it is a hot summer here in FL. I just updated the thermostat to the 149 degree unit, new radiator, new polisih over-flow tank, new radiator cap, new ascessory belt, new A/C, new plugs and oil and clean intake filter. And ofcourse an engine bay detail, a coat of Reflections Wax and cleaned the interior some.

Ready until the fall gets here and then more work I guess.

Your opinion counts thus please tell me what you all think about it, other than it looks stock .

Awesome, this is my 8th year as well in May. Bought mine with about 320mi IIRC as the dealership drove it there from another and I was the 1st and only owner. Sitting at 75k miles since Feb '08 when the original engine failed cruising at 45mph. Have put 4 miles on the new engine since April.

Maybe some other one and only owners of their Evo can chime in.

Good to hear from you.

It looks like you had the Evo down for a while.

I know the feeling, as I too have gone thru more than one Engine with mine.

It takes time and money to get it back together and runing again.

I am glad you too decided to keep at it. Like I said, it is an amazing vehicle.

Enjoy your new build, keep taking care of it. It is good to meet you.

It looks stock...

Haha jk man.. so does my 06, just not as clean. Your car is SUPER clean! I don't think I've seen a stock exterior 04 evo THAT clean looking since they first rolled off the show room floor lol
Your mod list is awesome as well.

And I hear ya with the engines... I have a build thread on here about throwing a stock mivec back in mine. Previous owner snapped a line off of the WGA and didn't fix it... just bypassed it. But I digress.

You've got a great sleeper! I love Forced Performance turbos

The car looks great! Paint in these pictures looks brand new. It's awesome how so many people have owned their evo for 5+ years and still love it. I'm coming up on my 5 year and I still love it as much as day 1.

Manie is an old timmer around here and if you look at any picture of his cars the car will always be super clean... who would think this car has made over 500 dyno pulls and countless track pases.

Manie looking Sharp, I like the new camera and the pictures its taking
