.... just for the record there are literally 100's of people with tubular manifolds with an open vent even without the OEM louvers and they don't crack.... I am one of them.... and I have a COP setup for whomever mentioned that

...otherwise I see your point.

It's kinda hard to see but I was daily driving my car and had no garage at the time. I was running standalone with a 4" 45 tube with a filter on it and my filter sat right under the side of the vent. So I took a plastic lid off one of those big plastic storage container and cut it the shape of the corner of the vent were my intake was just to cover that. Didn't like rain soaking the filter jumping in it and driving it. Def worked and kept my filter 98% dryer. Now I don't dd my car nor drive it in rain so that cover is in my tool box prob never to be used again hahaha. But it def worked ( may have to zoom in on pic a bit)
