Thanks man! Your car looks awesome.

BTW my opinion is you should have left the hood vent aluminum to match the intercooler. Was it bare aluminum or spray painted silver?

I second, third, fourth etc everyones opinion, Great car !! Sometimes I would like to motivate myself to do all the things you have done to your car but I find excuses not to

Thanks
Thanks man, appreciate it! It was bare aluminum I believe.

Not a ton going on. I finally got the snow tires and stock wheels on the car, as well as a set of stock struts with Hotchkis springs I picked up from a friend for winter duty. I got the car aligned, and everything is more or less good to go for the winter. I'll probably toss a set of Rally Armor mud flaps on to protect the JDM rear bumper from getting pelted with crud all winter.

Yesterday afternoon, I opened my sunroof and heard the dreaded grinding noise. I had been hearing a vibration for about a week and suspected the motor screws for the sunroof were finally vibrating out like they do on most Evo VIIIs, so I can't say I was shocked when it happened. Fortunately it was nice outside and I found the time to fix it last night.

While I was at it, I decided to install a high mounted stop light. My car came with the optional lower spoiler from the factory and the original owner replaced it with the more common Evo CF wing. The third brake light was on the low spoiler, so as a result I was left without a high mounted stop light. While it looked better visually, I was constantly worried about getting rear ended on my commute to work by distracted or otherwise incompetent drivers.

I picked up a used brake light from a part out on the forums and found that the wiring was intact on my car. I had to reroute the wiring from the trunk lid into the rear speaker deck area and cut holes to install it, but it wasn't too bad overall. So now my Evo looks like every other Evo, lol.

Since I had the back seat out anyway, I decided to install the Evo IX rear seat while I was at it. Hopefully I'll have some new front seats in there by spring time as well...

So that's about it at the moment. I ordered a couple of goodies yesterday that should be here soon, but won't be installed until spring. It's shaping up to be a bit of a slow winter, but there should be a pile of goodies waiting this spring.

Oh, and I've decided to sell my Work CR Kais to make way for a new setup this spring. I'll have an official thread posted soon!

Hi Marcus- I agree! Come home soon man.

Despite the fact that winter is beginning to settle in (a bit early, I might add...) I'm still thinking about and beginning to get some things together for next summer. The first of those items is something I've been saving up for for a while and was finally able to pull the trigger on, thanks in part to a great deal from Mike at Evasive Motorsports:

1600MM Type 5 carbon GT wing with optional 30MM risers. My flame suit is back from the dry cleaners and ready for battle!

I also picked up a set of the twin urethane canards for my front bumper to complete the look:

With the CR Kais off for the winter, I figured I might as well get a new set of wheels for the spring. It's tough to deny how cool AME Tracer TM-02s look on any Voltex-clad Evo, so the choice was probably pretty predictable. I went with the usual 18x9.5 +22 and will be reusing my current tires for the time being.

I'm a bit tapped out for the moment with the holidays approaching, so that should be about it for a while. I'd like to upgrade the interior a bit this winter as well, but we'll see how things pan out. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it all come together this spring though!

Love those AMEs. I plan on getting a similar set in the spring.

Excellent build thread! Great choice in parts. The 30mm risers are a must imo, I thought the wing looked goofy on my car without.

Thanks man! I agree- looks pretty cool with the risers. Looking forward to the thaw in a couple months so that I can see it all together!

Well, things have been pretty quiet car wise for me lately. I'm just patiently waiting for spring and trying to decide what I want to tackle next. My wife got me a set of Rally Armor mud flaps for Christmas, so I recently tossed those on. It's nice to not have all of the crud getting thrown up onto the car.

Things will stay fairly light until April when all of the parts go back on the car. I'm hoping to time it just right with the weather and baby #2 being born, but things rarely go as planned. Can't wait to see it all back together with the new additions!

i'm excited for you also, i'll be picking up my evo from maryland in march, i wanted to spare it the pain of all this salt up here.

Quick question, are the mounting points on the JDM bumper the same as USDM bumper for the RA mudflaps, i see them being a good investment up here after looking at the crap my truck is covered in ...?i got my jdm bumper installed right before i transfered up here so... i didn't get a good look at it.

Why'd you ever sell the Zeta 2?

Good taste as always.

Only things I would do are older bride(s) and some useless JDM Bracing

Some NeXT goodness.

I sold you the Do-Luck brace for your S13 btw.

haha, what's up man? I wasn't feeling the Zeta II in this car for some reason. I got an offer I couldn't refuse and had to take it though.
