It is possible. But I would strongly suggest you have a large enough garage and have plenty of space to move around in. It needs to be well ventilated and try to keep as much dirt as you can out of there. But yes, this can easily be done at home.

Nah, all depends on your preference really. I had mine dipped matt black and left the jambs and under the hood and trunk blue. You can't see it unless they're open. And even then it looks kind of cool. I haven't had any negative feed back from anyone that's seen it yet.

Thanks, any kits or companies you would recommend since your project turned out successful? Is this stuff only online or in stores?

Not sure exactly where to get the stuff online. A buddy of mine that I work with did mine one weekend while I was out of town. I know he buys all of his stuff off of the net from one distributor. He does a lot of dip work on the side. I've heard the kits to do this stuff aren't very expensive and you should be able to find a good lead on them through google or dipyourcar.com. Good luck!

I had my car dipped around Christmas last year.
I tried to remove it this year in end of August and note I used alittle over 3 gallons and did 5 thick coats. I also used the pre dip spray.
The dip dried out and peeled off in small chips.
I used googone, acetone, and lacquer thinner which worked the best btw. I also used a 3000 psi pressure washer with no luck either.
My body shop who was going to paint the car quoted me over 1k to remove it.
The car is almost out of paint and I'll do a photo shoot of the new color and what not.
The dip is neat stuff but use at your own risk.

Dipped EVO8 in West Virginia
Here are some pictures of my dipped EVO8
First I dipped wheels gold metallizer with black base coat same with emblems
Then I dipped the center of hood, side skirts, and a few other things black and won 1st place Mitsubishi at car show
Then I decided to go all out and dip the entire car light blue with silver metallizer on top
Then I decided to dip the wheel with some color for kicks and giggles and peeled them off recently was fun!
All dipped vehicles! Enjoy!

Plasti Dip JDM sytle rear
First time using Plasti-dip, and I hate the rear bumper I have....so until I can afford the true JDM, I thought I would try and plasti dip my current bumper to look like the JDM IX. Not too bad, and yes I know there are some trouble spots. Flame if you wish..but it works for now...
