Fogs lights on my GSR!

I was able to hook up the fog lights on my JDM headlights using the factory fog light switch, relay and fuse

As most of you know not all Evo's came with fog lights and wiring them seemed impossible to get to work with the factory switch. I found out a few months back that we have all the wiring under dash but not under the hood. I found both plugs for the fog light switch and the headlight level switch. I only used the fog light plug. Only thing I had to do was figure out all the wiring in the GSR under hood fuse box Vs the MR, SE, SSL under hood fuse box. I found all the differences and wired away with the end result of working fog lights using the factory button!

Here's a few pictures. When I get the rest buttoned up I'll take pictures of the wiring

Fog lights on

Fog light button with the symbol lit up

And a teaser picture

I might on the next one. I will be taking a damaged set of MR headlights apart so I can gut the fog light housings out and convert my friends Evo IX GSR headlights to have fogs lights in them. Wont be exact but it will be pretty close

I have a question as to what the red button and switch are next to the fog light switch? I figured the red button was an alarm or something of the sort? Just wondering, Thanks!

Its literally 4 wires, a stock relay and a fuse to get the fogs working

Hey for the wiring under the dash, is it just sitting there behind the plastic where the switch is?
I wanted to do this mod too, but I couldnt find the wiring under the dash.
I tried looking for it, but its like it was never there to begin with.
If the wiring is there, I wonder if the previous owner tucked it away or something.
Ive been trying to get stock HIDs and fogs for a while now and this would help me out a lot in planning!!!
Thanks for making this thread, its awesome.

It should be right above the fuse box under the dash. One plug is grey and the other is white. The white plug is the one you'll use for the fogs

Looks great. One question though, I always thought the 2nd of those "place holder" switches (where you have your map switch, I have an alarm light) was for a leveler for the lights no? I have an 05 GSR with no fogs as well.

Yup you are correct. I didn't wire up the headlight leveler on my car yet. Eventually I'll get around to wiring that up. Seems a little more complicated to do
