How did you mount it on your steering column? The mount looks a little bulky, but not too bad. What is a CF pod? This is definitely the route I'm taking. That is exactly where my factory gauge was on my WRX and it was very easy to view.

CF cup is the Autometer Carbon Fiber 2, 1/16 single gauge cup. I DO wish the lower mounting piece was slightly smaller/thinner. Maybe one day I'll fashion my own.. the double sided tape I got from radio shack. Outdoor, extra strong (pretty much permanent-- but can be removed). I didn't want to drill holes, but I think the top section of the steering wheel cover can't be too much anyway?. Tape's only a couple mm thick at the most. I didnt want it to vibrate or anything.. I considered velcro. And NYEVO8, I would highly suggest you try some Superlock. Also at Radio Shack or Target. They have clear and black. Superlock is much stronger and stiffer than velcro. I use it for IPASS and the turbo timer. I use velcro for the radar detector (easier to remove) and some of the loop side of velcro on the area beside and in front of the keys (car is so stiff the keys make more noise than anything else)-- this softens up the noise there. I have no problems seeing any of my other gauges. Even the 'Lancer' in the dash, along w/ seat belt warning and door open warning.

gauge from j-spectuning.com (sp?)
cup from lancershop .. i imagine others carry this as well

videos should work now, BTW

I'm very interested in getting one of these gauges. I almost forgot...what is that excessive beeping once you turn your car on? lol radar dector or somthing ?

haha lol, yeah radar detector. I'm so used to it. Dont even hear it anymore. It comes on when ignition goes to on, then again when you start the car and ignition gets reset.

gauge is 52 mm which fits in the autometer 2,1/16 cup.
Here's the malaysian omori meter webpage:

http://omorimeter.com/multicolor_gauge.htm

down at the bottom is the color box.

mechanical: the only power going to gauge is the lighting, so the gauge reading itself is always on. The vacuum tube goes from engine bay to the gauge. So if you drive up a mountain and shut off the car, the gauge will read a little low. I believe they calibrate 0 at 1 atm (14.nnn psi) at sea level. Not positive tho.

Electrical: gauge is on when ignition is on. Vacuum line goes to a 'sending unit' in the engine bay which routes a wire, not a vacuum tube to the gauge. Dont have to worry about kinking the vacuum tube, wire is easier to route, but electric costs more.

As far as Omori's mechanical/electrical differences.. not sure other than above.

mounted the color box just left of the fuse box

You got any pictures of where you mounted the color box ? That would be my only concern trying to find a good place to mount it. I'll defenatly be getting one of these gauges

Where did you buy your Omori gauge from and how much was it? That gauge looks sweet!

i mounted the color box inside the dash still accessible in 2 sec, but after setting it to match stock gauges never touched it again.
