Rear Center Armrest Subwoofer

I was looking at this guy selling a double 6 inch sub that goes into the rear armrest hole when its down, except I don't want to spend 700 obo buying it and I want to make it out of MDF.

I really don't want to carry 5 people in my car anyway so I don't mind if the cup holder is down.

I would probably do one 6.5 inch (like a bazooka sub taken apart (my xb has a 10 inch powered, under the seat which I love)) then either ported or not, this is not my forte..

Anyways this is what I have found

This is a mercedes which has less space

and a GTR with the same idea

What do you all think of the idea? any downsides or ideas? (i'm not looking for mirror shaking bass)....I would make it removable as well

^ the one in the first pic is For Sale.....I want to make my own with a single 6.5 and ported or not....I don't know what would sound better....leaning towards ported since the Bazooka subs have the amp inside the tube and it's ported

I really like this idea over a standard subwoofer set up. Might be tempted to try it at some point. Going to keep an eye on this thread

Right now i have a kenwood sw10 150 watt underseat sub which is great (btw if fits just perfect) but the seat masks some bass for the passenger so i might take the box apart and use it for the armrest sub... i have a million things to do first but i can imagine that this will sound good too

I would think it would just ruin the style of the interior, but to each ther own. I would like to see how it would look though, good luck.
