Carbon Fiber lips too small??????

Hi guys I got an issue with an carbon fiber lip i bought. It fit good on one side but the other side will be off about an inch or so on the other side. For example if i put the left side in 1st then the right and will be off and the other way around. I did bought it from a vendor on here and have PM then but all i was told was to wait and see if they can help me with anything. I bought it a few month ago but didnt have a bumper to try it on as i was ordering a new bumper from dealer and just received the but last week and try it on today. I was not happy at all when the other side didnt fit. just wondering if anyone here has this issue before. Just wondering if there anything i can do to fix it myself.

here is the pic.

Where did you get the lip at? It does look a little off, but I wonder if it can fit still. Try setting the lip on the ground and installing the bumper on top of it. Instead of trying to stretch teh lip around it.

When I had my evo 8 bumper with the do luck lip, it had to be stretched a little, it wasnt that far off though. I installed it how I said above. Set the lip on the ground and then put the bumper on top of it, instead of trying to stretch it like crazy.

If you bumper is OEM, I would contact who you received the lip from, and supply them with these pictures.

Good luck!

I've put on three of these carbon fiber SE lips. You need to take the bumper assembly off the car in order to put it on. Drove me crazy the first time too.

Ok 2 things:

Cf and fiberglass shrinks when it cures. This is the age-old problem of using replica parts. Is what is. Fact is that it wont stretch. If this was PU or Abs it might. For what you probably paid, send it back

I could make that fit easily. Like said above, take off the bumper and try to install the bumper over the top of the lip.

On a side note, if you wanna give me a deal on that lip, I might buy it from you.

Looks like a quality lip. It should fit. Try the method others suggested by removing the bumper and setting the bumper on top.

It will fitt.. I bought a oem SE lip from the dealership a while back and I had the same problem. I had to remove my bumber and just tugg hard and pull and snap it onto the bumber... And that's it, then screw in your bolts

I had a very similar issue with mine. Take the bumper off, get a heat gun, find some patience, and grab a beer. It was a PITA but it will go on with a little working. BTW the heat gun is for the bumper, not the lip.

I ran into this same issue with mine, putting it on on one side and then attempting to put it on the other doesnt work.

I know the OP solved but for those in the future that dont want to take their bumper off, I had my car on ramps and I couldnt figure out how it wouldnt fit... the trick is you have to slide it directly up (or down if you take the bumper off), both sides at the same time and it'll slide right into place...

Bought it from vendor on here pm J.liu. And yes taking my bumper off and fitting it that way works but the lips is a bit tight and a bit off on the right side but can't really tell. I'll post up some pic when I got time. And again thanks to all the comment here and help me out.
