Most important question: How much do they weigh?
Second most important: How much did they cost?

I'm sorry, but this statement is not true. Kevlar does not offer the rigidity that carbon provides, and when manufactured in an autoclave with pre-preg carbon material, carbon fiber will offer 3x the strength of Kevlar while being approximately 30% lighter. Kevlar seats are manufactured in a similar manner to fiberglass with a dry cloth and wet resin mold process. Please provide testing data supporting your claim about Kevlar.

I'm not flaming, but it is frustrating to read a statement that makes such unsubstantiated claims. For more info on seat testing and crash test requirements, please go to:

http://www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/index.html

The FIA is the only sanctioning body in the world of motorsports that has a strict criteria for seat testing and safety requirements. Without this testing, it is not possible to use a seat in worldwide motorsports competition (ie. WRC). In fact, NASCAR is currently testing a carbon seat that has demonstrated to be significantly safer than the current aluminum seats used in Nascar sanctioned races, with the hopes of mandating it for the 2005 season.

Eh, that seat looks tiny. My 5 year old cousin could use it as a car seat.

^ uhm... that's nice... but if you shoot hollowpoints at it it will flatten them like a wall. that's the whole point of teflon coated bullets.

btw... kevlar is not as strong as pre preg cf. for that price you should get a bride carbon kevlar (which is stronger than just kevlar) seat. and weighs the same 14 lbs.
