That is hard to get out and really sucks!
,, you can try using a med or heavy cut cleaner wax, but test it on something that you can see first to see the out come, plastic can look bad really fast if you wear it down to much.

Wet sanding can do the same trick, but be very careful!

And test another part you cant see first,,,(did I already say that)

I use polishing compound on the head and tail lights to get out scratches. I'll bet it works on the interior plastic too.
Then get some Plexus plastic cleaner protecent and polish. You can get it at motorcycle shops. It is the best for plastic, and is anti-static, so dust won't stick.

I think the wax idea is good. I'd be afraid of how thin the paint coating is on that thing. Wax will just add a layer instead of taking anything off.

Mayo, huh ?
But I can vouch for Plexus, good stuff. Good luck with the fix.

I know i don't have an evo but my girl scratched the **** out of my interior with her purse zippers and I bought some 12000 grit hobby sand paper at the craft store and wet sanded them down it doesn't look too bad but would have looked better if it didn't get ruined in the first place, just my .02.
