For those running 255's on stock rims

Ok here's the deal I just bought 255/40/17 RT 615's for my stock BBS rims. I had them mounted today and they look great. My only concern is that my car is lowered with Tein coilovers and I have about a 2 inch finger gap in the front and 1 in the rear. The front wheels from lock to lock have zero rub and have plenty of clearance. My concern is the rear. I could raise the rear but it looks perfect as it as, not to mention my control arms are exactly where I want them to be. The rear tire clearnce in relation with the rear fender is close. I'd hate to have to roll my fender for stock rims and I just won't, i'll raise the rear if I have to. I know that when a tire travels upward the negative camber increases so it just might miss. With just me and passenger in the car I have no worries, my concern is having a fully loaded car with 2 front and 2 back. Will it rub or clear? I'll post pics when I get a chance.

I'll let you know once you post pics. as for me i went through 2 sets of those tires and size on stock rims. Never did I have any rubbing issue and my car is pretty low.

Just take the car for a drive and you'll find out... if it rubs then head home and either raise it a touch or take a bat to the fender to roll it or you can pull it out if youre strong or know some one with some big guns lol

I had my car slammed on coilovers and had no rubbing issues. i just rolls the inside lip in.

Heres a pic to give you an idea.

When you take a hard turn the car squats and the camber makes the top of the tire go inward....

Different rim, but its the same same size tire and stock offset so it sits exactly the same as a stock wheel.

Enjoy the extra grip!

Cheers!

Well I have taken it for a spin and took a few hard turns with no rubbing. My concerns is just with passengers in the car, I do have some fata$$ friends...

4WS@TopLevelAuto are those 17's?

^^^will not rub

DSMEVOLUTION Mar 25, 2008 07:24 PM

You know pictures never do justice. I look at my car in rela life and I think it's very low and considered raising it. I look at the pics and it seems like I can still go lower... {pcfreak}

I had 255/40/17 rt615's on my stock BBS's. Had it with less than 1" of gap in the rear. Took her out the twisties and never had any running,

You are fine, stop worrying. Im even running wider KDW2's and still no rubbage.

EVOlution561 Mar 25, 2008 08:05 PM

With all that gap you have you will def not rub, It doesn't matter much weight you have in the car. The suspension you have on the car is very stiff so it is not going to travel as much as a soft suspension does therefore the occurance of rubbing is minimized.

No problems whatsoever

My track setup is on 255's with no finger gap at all, fenders are not rolled and I do not rub. -1.5 rear camber

How is your alignment set up?

It's not yet...I'm getting it done on Thursday. I'll do -2 camber up front and -1 out back with zero toe all around.
