Opinion Check : Oil Cooler / intake Ducts On Evo 9

Hi all, I would just like to hear some opinions on a intake / oil cooler duct for Evo 9.

Its actually just a test piece but will be in the works for a carbon fiber one if feed back is positive.

A good friend of mine helped design it ...

What do you think?

Please leave your comments regardless negative or positive here. Thanks!
(PS: Pardon the open bonnet. Had some water temp issues so had to pop it prior to taking the photo)

If your tracking the car they probably wont help performance at all. Most people who seriously drag their cars tape over those ducts because other than the oil cooler on the far left duct they are useless, just cause drag. I personally don't like the appearance of them, but it is your car, do with it what you want. Why are you custom making them, is there a point to this, or do you just want an appearance change?

i track the car... i dont drag it at all.. and some local cars have 2 oil coolers installed including the original one... 1 on each side... therefore having it both sides...

Yeah agreed actually personally i think it looks a little strange... thats why i'm intending to get them refined... i've friends who told me they look good, and some told me other wise...

Just run some 3 inch ducting hose from the driver's side grill up to the intake. A local in my area runs an NACA duct which I'm going to do. Another choice is getting the APS intake. Those duct covers do nothing. You want something that will lead air where you need it.

i usually run a billion funnel with ducting hose to the intake... intend to continue doing so just that i removed it to see how these duct covers look...

^^ ugly!

^^ I agree and I would also be worried about driving that on the street on a rainy day with someone in front of me.

The original poster's intake ducts are ok I guess. Not sure if I like it or not, +1 for making you own things {thumbup}.

Functional parts aren't always good looking.

They look like pretty decent pieces and seem to fit the bumper well but I think they'd look better if they were molded into the bumper. Overall I think I like it though and I'd consider buying a set

i think they could look pretty badass.

I guess if it truly is functional, yeah that's ok, but otherwise yuck.
