From no wing to full CF with stock
 

howdy yall, so a few months back I read a thread about the EVO 7 and 8 spoiler being full CF underneath the stock paint on each ends of the spoiler. Since my stock spoiler was already having issues with clearcoat wearing off I decided to sand it all down and reclear the entire spoiler. I sanded for 1 month straight... gave up and decided to have a shop do it for $500 ;( but i am pretty happy with the results. I dont recommend anyone doing it themselves because wetsanding this with 600grit and 400grit to prevent the CF from getting dmg takes a LOT of sand paper and stamina

yes I took a lot of pictures lol. looks moderately stock and it is an ugly hood but I like my car :D

Looks good! So under the paint on the spoiler there is CF?? I think the car would be complete if CF wrapped the roof and also did you paint or powerdercoat your wheels?

there's a thread on here on "how to: paint stock rims" I followed his 10 step plan which consisted of buying car paint cans from advanced auto (gloss black) and sanding down, primering, etc etc spray 10-20 coats on each rim. DONT DO WHAT HE SAYS. dont even attempt to repaint ur rims if you do not have the professional tools and materials. i put 20 coats per wheel and a week later it already started chipping. I also followed "how to: refinish your spoiler" thread on this forum, which was a BAD idea. on jobs like these, just get it done professionally because it will last longer with a higher quality. At least this is my experience so far. i tried to save money but in the end screwed myself.

What I always say, you get what you pay for. Some people think they have civics when buying things for their evos... :lol:

I think it's a REAL GOOD LOOK. And being that I am having the same issue with the clear on my spoiler you just gave me an idea. CHEERS!!! :beer:

My Evo 7 spoiler certainly isn't CF under the paint.
Neither is a mates. Both plastic.

Only if it's a spoiler from a VII or VIII. The IX's are not full CF.

Nice man. Can use a few more exterior mods, but its look good. Thumbup for a fellow LY Evo :)

VII wings are not cf, neither is the IX. Only the VIII wing is. Your wing looks great man, I especially like it on the yellow.
