Interesting... I'm running the Hotchkis coils w/ 17" TE-37's in the +30 offset w/ 255/40's and have no rubbing under ANY circumstance. Can you confirm what offset you are using?

that is strange, prior to installing the Buddy Club coilovers, I had the Hotchkis springs on 18X9 volk CE28's off set 35 on 255/35/18 dunlop SS (great tires) no rubbing front or rear, after swaping the springs for the coilovers and dropping the car a tad more, still no rubbing even under hard cornering??? Never had to roll the fenders.

Soon2BEVO, what is the off set for your wheels???

+30. I dont know why it would be rubbing, there seems to be the same amount of space of suspension travel from the stock ones to the new tire/rims combo. I dunno.

Man, that blows. It really doesn't seem like you should rub.
naucrx has Hotchkis springs too and he said:
naucrx: No rubbing issues for me with 255/40/17 Potenza RE750, 5Zigen FN01R-C 17x9 and Hotchkis springs
although he did NOT say what his offset was. I assumed he has the 35offset which would shift his outer rim out by 15.7mm and his inner rim in by 9.7mm as opposed to you who is only shifting out by 14.4 and on the inner side you are actually moving out by ~2mm. And he is running wider tires to boot!!! You might try to check with him to see for sure what his offset is.
You might try measuring your offset to make sure you got what you ordered.
You might also want to check with lil'evil_evo since he says:
lil'evil_evo : i just put these on a few days ago. 18x9.5 255/35's , the wheels are 5Zigen FN01RC's +35mm
He has Tanabe springs (assumed to be gf210's) that I believe have the same drops as your Hotchkis setup which I think is 38mm/25mm and he has even bigger shifts = 22.1out and 16.1in.
Please let us know what you find out.

It could be the alignment of the car. Your Tein Flex Coilover system is on its way. I never had any rubbing on my 03 or 05 with this setup.

Kind of weird but I just took the car for a drive (bringing my gf home) and I took 2 turns really hard and it did not rub at ALL.... really strange. I noticed a peice of the black plastic inside the wheel-well was popped out and I pushed it back in - this is before I took the drive, however I dont see how that coudl have solved the problem? But oh well. My alignment is way off too - I will install coil-overs, go get alignment and report back! Shoudl be done this weekend hopefully.

Ok its confirmed - my rubbing problem was indeed the plastic inside the fender that came down. I drove the car a lot yesterday many hard turns, and there is absolutely no rubbing at all. Thank god!!!!!

Ahh, saw my name in this thread so I had to chime in.

The 17x9 5Zigens I have are in fact +35 offset. I have only heard rubbing once, and that was going through a very aggressive right-hand turn at speed (with a bump) and the tire rubbed slightly on the driver's side front fender.

I did tear the clips off my passenger side front fender trim a year and a half ago which caused it to rub. But I've since worn all the way through it so I don't hear it anymore. lol

I'm glad you got your car all fixed and that there's no more rubbing!
