Brake 'popping' noise, whats the cause?

On occasion when I take off from a stop the brakes (or so it seems) will emit a pop noise that you can sometimes feel in the steering column every so softly.

THis also happens when coming to a complete stop, again from time to time.

Im thinking its the brakes, could be wrong. It almost sounds like the brakes are sticking and the noise is from them unsticking. Or a shift in the pad?

Thoughts on what this could be?

I dont feel it in the brake pedal though...really weird. Brakes work perfectly fine.

I dont think so, happens under normal driving w/o touching the ebrake...or even not using the ebrake after parking she will do it sometimes.

This is on an IX MR w/ 8k miles.

I'll just throw this out there, but I don't know for sure .. could this be the brake pads sticking to the rotor from heat, then popping loose when you move? I've had that happen before, shouldn't hurt anything.
