The STI wheels are a very nice wheel. Built very well, forged, etc... And it shouldn't be shameful to put these on an Evo. Although the '05+ Sti wheel have the correct offset and PCD to fit an Evo, the hub bore is too small to fit an Evo. I know first hand, I tried.
Which is a shame because I could have bought them for $500/set because everyone seems to be hating on stock stuff. They are forged BBS wheels, so what if they came originally from an STI. It is crazy that some people would rather put on a set of cast P.O.S.
Are car works very well because of the high build quality of things.

With an 8 or 10mm hub spacer, the 2005+ 5x114 STi wheels should fit fine. Brake clearance would not be an issue with th proper spacer. The only problem might be the centerbore of the wheel. If the Subaru has a smaller centerbore than the Evo, it's not going to work without reboring the wheels at a machine shop.
EDIT: Ah NM, 3 posts up says he tried it and the centerbore is too small.

On a side note...I ****ing love the STi's Brembos...especially the paint on them...so suave.
