Looks like a blown shock to me...

I put on new tires recently, and thought that they were performing horribly. Then I noticed a clunking from the front passenger side. Upon removing the wheel, I found this -

I don't see any oil on the shock's shaft seal, but it's tough to see up in there. Is this common? Should I get a replacement, or go aftermarket? I recently hit a rabbit on the highway, and it ripped the plastic skidplate off the bottom of my car. I'm betting if I take it to the dealer, they will claim that the shock was damaged then (it couldn't have been - I hit the rabbit on the driver's side).

How does the CV joint look? It can also make a mess like that if it gets damaged.

Yes, check the CV as well.

There have been some reports of premature wear with the MR Bilsteins. Ask your dealer if they have received any TSB's.
Do you track your car?
I blew mine out after hitting some curbing at a local track event.
