All 4 tires are cupping.

Ok I just got back from the alignment shop because I initially wanted the balance checked on all 4 wheels. I'm running stock evo 9 rims with advans and at speeds of 60+ my steering wheel has a very slight vibration or wobble which it did not have before.

I brought my car into Firestone and they checked the balance on all 4 wheels and told me that the balance on three of the wheels are perfect but one of the wheels balance is off by .5 on the inside. However they said that's not what is casuing the vibration because the off balance wheel came from the rear. The vibration is coming from the cupping on all 4 tires. To be honest i can't really tell by looking at them but when they showed me you can see that some inside parts of the tire are worn just a tad bit more than the other parts. Some of the tires are worse then others but all 4 have them.

This is the 2nd shop that told me that but the last shop only noticed the rear tires cupping and I had them rotated since then. They said that it would not be worth it to balance the wheel because it will not correct the vibration because of the cupping. Plus the balance was not that bad in the first place to make a difference. Since my car was there I had it aligned which the last time it was done was in January. They also fully inspected all the suspension components and it all looked perfect.

I'm concerned as to why my tires are cupping. They said it could be caused from a bad alignment or improper rotation. I rotate my tires every 6k and my last alignment was in January. They also said it could be due to driving style. My front toe was way off so they corrected it and the rear alsignment was completely fine. However my front left caster is off (3.33) which factory minimum is 3.4 and you cannot adjust caster on evo's.

Anyways is this normal for Advans? I know Advans are known to wear unevenly but cupping?? It's strange....

The rear alignment was fine the front toe was out -12 on the left and 12 on the right. BTW... Evos caster is not adjustable without modification.

ok if you say so, but you may want to ask someone beside me to get another opinion.

Again I'll ask you, what were the numbers before and after for toe and camber front and rear. by the way "fine" is not a number.

caster limits are 3°55’ ± 30’ (Left/right deviation within 30’) not "factory minimum is 3.4"

how many mile on the tires?

thats right air pressure i went trough my original set and they lasted me 16,000 miles and the second set i bought (o.e.advans ) i had a flat got to tire shop and they fixed it but guess what it started to have the vibration after 60 mph and it will stop till 95 mph but just a little vibration i went and took it to the alignment ant they said it was ok i took it to get a second opinion and walla tire is messed up it had a lot of ***** on the side wall in the inside and they told that it happen cause i drove on it with low pressure so i had to change all 4 i bought azenis (1,200 to the trash they lasted 10,000)they where 500 for all 4 so bottomline is CHECK YOUR TIRE PRESSURE AND TIRES.
