How would these rate compared to Jic FLTA-2? or KW v3?

evozmarine - its all about valving. The HD's are superior in that arena, translating into more constant performance over the track. And they are a little bit softer than the KYB's in lower speeds, makes them nice around town.

dbears - some of the data plots from the great thread below. I do not have the Sports data plots. But they should be similar, based on how these feel on the car.

Andrew and I were talking about it last night:

So they are not quite as progressive as they seem. Depending on how Swift did it, after the initial bump you could feel some of the progressiveness.
The data plots show that after the initial 0.5in or so the rates increase then level out near the end of the compression.

jcal - depends on the springs used in those suspensions. Off the shelf KWs are 8k/7k if I remember right. And I want to say 7k/8k for the JIC's. These are 6.4k/6.8k or 30-70lbs/in difference (6.4 v 7k and 6.8 v 8k).

Hmm, I had planned on a set of coilovers, but after more consideration, I think I am going to go for this setup and put the extra money towards HPDEs and autocross schools.

When are the AX school/fun spring days? With CART or Fairfield? I cannot run with FCCA (too loud).

Is 1.4 in and 0.8 in the amount lowered in the front and back? If not, how much lower are you?

Also, how much is this setup versus coilovers?

Yeah so even though it says the rates start at like 180 lbs/in or whatever, don't think they're that soft. So it's kind of confusing, but the bottom line is these springs work!

Also, the standard rates for KW V3 are 9k/6k (i.e. bad, get custom rates) and for the JIC's i'm not sure.

Correct, -1.4 in the front and -0.8 in the rear.

Around $1500 for everything (struts, springs, sways). Which is still cheaper than a proper set of coil-overs and you don't have to worry about winter salt on seizing parts.

From driving on them, I would say the spring plots are correct. Little bite (soft area) then right into the stiffer rating.

I ran with CART 10 or 12 times last year but haven't run FCSCC yet. I will a bunch this year for sure. CART kicked some people for noise this year, including a red Evo.

I plan on the Evo AutoX school in Boston May 9th and 10th:

http://www.evoschool.com/index.php?p...-and-challenge

I'm thinking about doing Phase 1 Saturday and then Phase 2 the next day.

I'm also eyeing doing an HPDE with NASA at Lime Rock and one at NHMS with COM throughout the year.

Doh, Winged Warrior is that same weekend - darn!

Arg, noise is the issue there too, I don't get some of them. Especially when on a tank plants, industrial areas, or airports.
