I didn't read through all the pages of this thread, but is 18x9.5 +22 too aggressive to fit a 255/35? Planning on buying some wheels with tax returns. What is too low of an offset for 17x9.5, +29 the max like Chu mentioned? I currently have 17x9 +35 right now with Nitto 555's 255/40's

The +29 is approx .280" further inboard so tire fitment is easier
Personally, I would stay away from anything lower than +28 but I like wide rubber & dont like the stretch

Hello. I've been searching and have yet to find a definitive answer on XXR 530 fitment. I'm on the verge of making a purchase but just need someone to confirm that I will not have fitment issues with these.
xxr 530 18x8.75 5x100/114.3 +20
Tires: 225/40/18
04 Evo 8 lowered on s-techs. Will I be good with these wheels with no need for fender roll or spacers? Thanks!!!!

The 225 tire is likely out of the range of a 8.75" width wheel & is considered a super stretch.
Find a wheel/tire combo that is EVO friendly (offsets +28 & higher)

Cant speak about the wheel design or fitment. Just a general note about the tire/wheel size. +20 is very difficult to fit w/out some aggressive rear fender modifications.

enkei rpf1 17 or 18
which is best for DD 17*9.5 or 18*9.5
about to order the 18's as they look great, but dont know when it comes to performance wise if it will affect much?? any input from others with more experience in this? i have D2 suspension coilovers

If tire cost is a deciding factor, the 17's most always have the advantage
IMO, you have to be willing to mod the rear fenders if you want the wide tire look, not to mention making the pkg functional.
If youre rubb'n, it ain't working !

[QUOTE=MinusPrevious;10653554]Both 17's & 18's work well on the track when comparing similar widths & aspect ratios. You are right, 18's look better in the well than 17's. Personally, I run a 17x9.5 +29 w/ 275/40's

MINUS --> i thought the RPF1's do not come in the 17x9.5 +29? cuz thats the wheel im about to purchase

Would need to know what tires youre going to run. The +33 is a very safe offset & you could possibly run a 255 tire w/out too much work

l Sh1ft l / db7r (Both of you are in a similar situation)
First off, a 225 tire is too narrow for a 9.5 rim. Check the charts to confirm. Sure a tire guy will mount them, but its not right/safe
On a personal note I run 2 wheels. 1. No Name 17x9.5 +30 w/275/40 tires & 2. Track wheel ADVAN RGII 17x9 +29 w/275/40 tire
Look at this pic (my ride): Remove the rear strut & mount your wheel/tire assy. For a proper fit, the assy must be able to pass through, into the well w/out contact during the suspension stroke. (Work done: Roll/Pull/Bumper Bolt/Rear splash guard removed/Bumper cover adjusted)
Raising the ride height, adding stiffer springs or compression settings is not the way!
Those that choose not to follow these rules should roll themselves into the Stance thread. This forum, for most, is for a proper fit & track worthy set-ups
BTW, No offense to either of you. Which ever route you take is your call. Some of us here would like to see you stay away from the lower offsets that are very expensive & difficult to make fit
Just my opinion, Joe

I have an '05 Evo8 with GtWorx springs and Bilstein shocks.
With that being said, the drop is roughly .5" from stock.
Stock fenders but can be rolled if necessary.
I want to go with an 18x9 wheel perhaps with a 35 offset.
Will this wheel size and offset clear the factory Brembos?
Will a 255/40/18 tire fit with this setup?
Please help!
