Yeah, certainly remember that RS w/the TE's. Thats how 17's are supposed to run
Did i read your post correct? You are in the process of running these wheels / 17x9.5 +28?
That spec is what i was running before going back to my track wheels in the post above (Advan 17x9 +29). My 9.5" are the Rota P45R 17x9.5+30 w/the Fed 265/40's
As you may know, we had to pull, roll & relocate the bumper bolt & run close to -2 degrees of rear camber. With all that work, there is zero rub at any ride height or compression bump
Keep me posted on what youre doing & post up a pic. I dont remember what your car looked like?

Its hard to nail down the exact wheel spec youll need, but generally speaking:
18x9.5 +34 to +38 may be OK running a 275 w/just a tight rear fender roll
Offsets lower that +34 will likely require a bit more rear fender work (i.e. pulling, bumper bolt re-location etc). And certainly, in your case, being that this car sees aggressive track driving, any form of rub can not be tolerated
If youre at a point where you have zeroed-in on a wheel, I can give you a better idea on what work is needed.
As an example, my set-up is fully cleared for the track: 17x9 +29 & a 17x9.5 +30 (275/40/17's). This set-up needed the full compliment of rear fender work (rear fender pull, roll, bumper bolt & a few other tricks to get this to fully clear)

I'm either going with Enkei TM-7 in 18x9.5+38, or Enkei Raigin 18x9.5+35. just can't decide if i should go with the stock +38 over the 35. Starting with 255/40R18 RE-71 and looking to eventually move up to 265 maybe 275 if possible.
Opinions?

Make sure youre on top of what is needed regarding front spacers (most Enkeis need a front spacer)
Any other questions, please let me know

The +40 would most likely contact the rear trailing arm. Most 18x10'rs are running a +30 offset (did you want to add a 10mm to the rear to clear?)
Would not recommend adding any spacers to these wheels (fronts would likely need a large spacer)
What made you look at these wheels?

I did a bit of research on this size and looks like Rays wanted to make a concave face higher offset variation for the Subaru community since their stock offset on their cars is +53ish. So +40 is aggressive for them.
Here is the size caliper clearance link on Rays site for that wheel.

Trying to find out if these would fit my 04 Evo 8. I don't want to run a spacer or anything like that. Looking for a decent tire size nothing to stretched looking.

this is what that member said..
Full fender work, no spacers, and no rubbing. KW V3's. Nitto NT05's, 275 35. -1.8F, -1.6R.
However.. he is running a 275 which is a bit overkill on a 9 inch rim.. a 255/35/18 is perfect for this size.. and as long as you do not dump the car you should be fine without having to roll the rears... But yes they do clear without spacers. They look nice too.
If you want to run a 265 then you will probably just be fine by rolling the rears. But anything above a 255 is not needed for a 9 rim.

Thanks Roger^^^^
Yeah, an 18x9 +30 is a fairly modest size for the CT9A rear end. Plan on a tight rear fender roll using a 255/35 or 255/40 tire. If this wheel was a 9.5" wide, you would be looking at more rear fender work (i.e. rear pull & bumper bolt relocation)
BC's are great wheels & have always been a fan of the Buddy Club P1 QF: Forged- 17x9 +28- 14.5 lbs. See below. (no spacers needed as reported by users)

Hey, Rotas are a good wheel for the street. I run the Rota P45R 17x9.5 +30 w/a 275/40 tire. No front spacers needed. There are a few Rotas where no front spacer is neeed. You may have to move to the 9.5" width to find a wheel that needs no spacer

i think after i run the evo x wheels this season on track, i'm gonna ditch those and run konig hypergrams in 18x9.5 +35. any experience with those wheels/offset? it's not a bad looking wheel, i like it in matte grey. I weighed the evo x wheels as 22.2lbs, 19.4 for the hypergrams.
