I was in the same debate over tires. I went with the RA-1 in 255/40. The rs3s are on back order and I didn't feel like waiting. Also there's a shop local to me that sells the RA-1s for what the star-specs cost shipped. I would've rather gone with the rs3 or the 595rs-R, but I couldn't find them anywhere.

Depends on what you're ordering, but it could be anything from a discount on product, free shipping, etc.

What would be required to fit the 18x10.5 version with +30 offset?

Can anyone confirm that a 265 40 17 star spec will not rub on the stock struts with a 17x9.5 +38 offset. I just ordered some but not I am a little worried about the lack of clearance...

Sorry to bump an old thread but id rather do this than create a new one. So I've been reading about nt03's and I've seen people talk about the "old face" and a "new face". I'm wanting 17x9.5 +38's because I don't want to mess with spacers. Some look concave and some look convex. Can anyone confirm if these are currently concave? That would of course be my preferred look. I'm seeing a lot of inconsistencies in my searching.

Woah where does the time go...just saw my post asking about these back in 2012, lol

Ibbs- To answer your question the 17x9.5 has a convex face and the 18" ones are all concave regardless of width and offset.

Thanks for the response! Damn. I really wanted to stick with 17's since I have new tires and weight. Looks like I'll start looking into 18's and more expensive tires 😔

No problem! The NT03's are awesome wheels I have a set of the 17x9.5 as well as 18x10.5

They both look awesome when you see them in person although I can say that most seem to prefer the concave look. I think pictures really don't do them justice however so I'd try and find a local with them to see in person.

Just keep in mind that tires for an 18" wheel is significantly more expensive and all the 18" ones will require a spacer so add that into the cost as well as extended studs.

But all in all you cant go wrong with NT03's great wheel and should serve you well with whatever size you decide upon.

Thanks again for the extended response! I'm trying to avoid spacers at all costs. If I decide to go with spacers, I'll be picking another set of rpf1's. I ran them on my previous car and loved them. It's unfortunate that the flat spoke sizes (9+) won't clear brembos or I would have ordered them already. Now I need to decide if I want 17in NT03's, Evo X wheels or some more expensive wheels like some SSR or Works.
