Goodridge Brake Lines Leaking - Rear Only

I decided to redo my brake calipers since I purchased new rims/tires and lightweight rotors. To accompany this mod I purchased a set of GoodRidge SS brake lines. The install was straight forward, but both rears are leaking at the same spot where the factory hard line connects to the supplied adapter. I have removed and ensured a clean mating surface and still I have this issue. Has anyone had a similar experience or is there something I should be doing different? I have redone brake lines many times so I am thinking the flare within the adapter is not correct.

How old are those lines? There is a thread with a Goodridge line advisory for the older versions. I don't recall exactly what for. You might want to look into that and see if they will warrantee those lines.

I spoke with Goodridge and showed them the pictures. They were helpful and I drove 40 miles to one of their facilities and picked up different adapters. Those leaked even worse so I put back the factory rear lines and I am leak free. I have requested a partial refund for the rears since the fronts are leak free. Will keep you updated.

UPDATE:

It appears the issue is not with the Goodridge brake line kit, but with the factory hardline. I ordered in a new rear factory brake line to look at the sealing surface to compare with the Goodridge. From the picture below you can see they are the same.

The factory tightens the lines too much distorting the hardline. This is evident from my first picture showing how the rear brakeline sealing surface has been damaged.

To remedy I can either redo the double flare of the factory hard line or Goodridge sent me some special washers to create a seal.

UPDATE:

I used the special copper sealing washers and they are LEAK FREE. I am very happy with the Goodridge kit as well as their outstanding customer service. They went above and beyond to address the issues with my setup.

I can confirm that the factory does over tighten those lines. Luckily mine were still good enough to seal when I replaced the oem lines. I had a situation similar to yours though, but my issue had to do with fitment of the brake lines I ordered (not goodridge) causing a similar leak.

I'm in the middle of a brake line install, so this is an interesting thread. I'll have to check the rear brake hoses when they come off.

Mine are doing the exact same thing. What a PITA. I have been looking for that flare gasket, and so far no luck.

Snugging the fittings helped, but still leaking. So annoying. I should have left the factory lines on the car.

What makes this especially annoying is that for some reason Mitsu used a different flare design for the front and rear, and the front seems great while the rear sucks. Why not use the same flare design for front and rear?

So I reefed them down more than seemed reasonable, and the leaks have stopped. Brakes are bled, and hopefully I'll have time for a test drive tonight.

I sent you a PM, but your box if full. I have a few of the flares if you need them.
