How to remove ABS Wiring from 7,8,9 with ACD/AYC Guide
Found this on LancerRegister.com and thought it'd be useful to some of use IX guys. How to remove the ABS wiring, if you do the ABS delete, and KEEP your ACD function. All credit goes to John@EvoBreakers for this info!
In 2011 i ran my sprint car without ABS and have to say that the brake feel was incredible and the ability to use the brake bias valve to dial in the brakes even more was overwhelming.
In 2011 i spent a small fortune on having my wiring loom modified so that i could delete ABS but retain the ACD/AYC. Having started the build for my 2013 sprint car i decided to save a few £ and remove the ABS myself,, here is how i did it.
First off let me explain a little how the 2 systems work hand in hand.
The 4 ABS sensors are connected direct to the ABS ecu here is the following info on pins and colours.
N/S/F ABS sensor
Signal (White) pin22
Ground (Green/blue) pin31
O/S/F ABS sensor
Signal (Red) pin30
Ground (Black) pin29
N/S/R ABS sensor
Signal (Blue/White) pin6
Ground (Black/Yellow) pin7
O/S/R ABS sensor
Signal (Pink) pin8
Ground (Blue) pin9
With the loom on the bench these wires can be found and then traced back, as luck would have it they pass straight past the spur off for the AYC ECU, this is ideal as we will be connecting them into this.
The ABS Ecu talks to the AYC Ecu via 4 wires where the wheel speed sensors are concerned. These can be removed and new pins inserted or cut and soldered the ABS sensor wires onto.
ABS---------------------AYC
N/S/F pin32 (White) pin6
O/S/F Pin21 (Pink) pin7
N/S/R pin20 (light green/yellow) pin8
O/S/R pin18 (Red) Pin9
The task is simple replace these pins (AYC Ecu) with the signal wires from the abs sensors. Then the ground wires from the ABS sensors then have to be inserted into the redundant pins on the AYC Ecu.
The following is the Colour, ABS sensor, and pin connected to in the AYC ECU. (you will need some pins to connect into the AYC ecu, i used some spares i had from an old ecu plug i had lying around).
N/S/F sensor.
White wire into pin 6
Green/Blue wire into pin 19
O/S/F Sensor
Red wire into pin 7
Black wire into pin 22
N/S/R Sensor
Blue/White wire into pin 8
Black/Yellow wire into pin 21
O/S/R Sensor
Pink wire into pin 9
Blue wire into pin 20
Now this process is done there are other wires that need to be removed. From this point on i will be referring to pin numbers from the ABS ecu.
pin 1 Goes to a splice in the loom, this wires connects to the brake pedal switch and needs to be removed at the splice.
pin 2 Goes to a junction and can be removed at this.
Pin 3 Goes to the AYC ecu pin 48. This is a VERY important wire and needs to be disconnected from the ABS ecu and taken to ground. This wire is used by the 2 ecu's to show a connection by taking this to ground you are effectivly telling the AYC ecu the car is not fitted with ABS and will no longer continue to look for a signal from the ABS. (if this procedure is not done you will get the dreaded 3 lights on your dash and AYC disabled)
Pin 4 Is connected to a splice that is connected to pin 1 on the steering anlgle sensor. disconnect at the splice.
Pin 5 Goes to a junction, disconnect here.
Pin 10 Goes to igntion switch, remove this wire.
Pin 11 is connected to a fuse in engine bay fusebox, dis-connect here.
Pin 12 ground.
Pin 15 Remove and put to pin 24 on AYC Ecu
pin 17 Goes to a splice connected to the steering angle sensor,, remove at splice.
Pin 19 Goes to stop light switch, remove at switch.
Pin 24 Remove and put topin 24 on AYC Ecu.
Pin 25 Goes into a splice for the Front/rear G-force sensor. remove at splice.
Pin 26 Goes to splice connected to the steering angle sensor. remove at splice.
pin 27 goes to combination meter, remove this.
pin 33 Goes to a fuse in engine bay fuse box, remove here.
Pin 34 ground, remove..
All associated wiring how now been removed or re routed from the ABS ECU. the ecu should now be redundant and no longer have any form of interference with other systems, thus allowing the AYC ecu to monitor wheel speeds, lateral and longitudinal g-forces, steering input and brake pedal switch.

Yeah mate if got JDM EVO 7 with ayc. I finished doing it last night but some wires I had to cut and cap with glue line heat shink behind dash did not want to pull the dash out. I decided to do a full wire tuck will I was at it should be finished in about a week. Fingers cross

I'm going to be testing out I different route. I unbolted the abs ecu itself from the solonoid pack and will tuck the ecu box and keep it plugged in as a pass through so to say. It's much smaller and couldn't weigh less than half pound. 4 bolts, very simple to unhook.
Hopefully it works and I don't have to do any wiring.
