EVOs finally found the right aftermarket inner/outer tie rod

Hi this only applies to you if you are looking to buy the right aftermarket inner tie rod and not an oem. im not sure if this has been covered or not but recently one of my inner tie rod is going bad so i decided to read around the forums how to replace one. So upon reading them i noticed that a lot of people who bought different brand aftermarket inner tie rods experienced that the thread that goes to the outer tie rod is not the same size. The size on the aftermarket is M12 X1.25 which is found to fit the base model lancer only vs our Evo's M14x1.5. So when you go buy this part it will show up fitting both vehicles but that is not TRUE! So I've been researching and i think ive finally found the right part. Im not sure if people heard of the brand MOOG but they sell parts throughout oreily's/other auto parts store and online but the part number will show up EV80587 and saying it will fit both vehicle but it that is still not right. You want the part number EV800563 and they are only $20 vs OEM but the store doesnt carry them. They only sell online like ebay, amazon, and etc. I've spent almost half of the day trying to figure out which one was the right part until i stumbled upon the brand MOOG and saw 2 part number which fits the same car so i got curious and tried to figure out which is which. Somehow i got to this website that gives me a little bit more information. if you look up the part number and go under the application under cars& truck you will see which car it will fit (FWD(M12x1.25) vs AWD).So to conclude I have found out that part EV800563 fits my car so i order and hopefully it will be the right one. I just want to help out other people who also is having the same problem as i have. It is still not proven yet but when it gets here if it's still wrong this post is useless then HAHAHA! worth trying to share some info

Awesome find! I ran into this issue myself and got so frustrated with AutoZone over this, but they didn't do s**t for me.

Which year outlander? And do you have a link to the Moog outer tie rod? Need to replace both tie rod ends and would love to spend less than the OE ones.

the 06 outlander tie rod end is noticeable shorter than the factory part. Just purchased two of the moog branded ones from a local napa and they are a half inch shorter, also not quite as beefy of casting it seems. However, i did have them look up the part for my car (2003 Evo) and they had what appeard to be the right part, m14x1.5 threads instead of the smaller threads everyone talks about.

I installed MOOG inner & outer ends in spring 2015. Haven't had any issues with them so far.
