A very good street pad that a lot of us run is the Stop Tech Street Performance pad

Not expensive & work very well. You can even do light track day on them. Just order from Amazon

If your brake rotors are still fine and you are using the car mainly for street driving, do yourself a favor and get a set of EBC Red's. Follow their brake in procedure and you will love them. They will shriek at you during the break in procedure because they are prepping the surface of your rotor for the bed in process, but after that's over you will enjoy increased stopping power and decreased brake fade.

I've tried Gyrodisk magic pads and Duralast pads and I didn't like them. They would squeal everywhere no matter what shim/lube combination I tried. I even got desperate and used that red brake quite goop they sell everywhere and that still didn't work.

The EBC red's come with initial break in material on the face of the pad to prevent this from happening.

I second the stop techs. I did not like the EBC's on my car. They smeared and left uneven deposits on the rotors, really bad brake vibrations..

I've had magic pads on for 60K and they look like they will go another 60K. Needless to say, brake dust is a distant memory. The front pads have been cleaned and lubricated once and one rear had the same when it started making noise about 10K ago. The other side on the back soldiers on untouched.

Magic pads could use a little more bite. What you get on one end you give up on another.

You WON'T be sorry going with WORKS (In Cali.)! Their 'Blue' Pads are amazing! They also have different types for track only, etc. I'm only on my second set since I bought my IX-MR new in 2006 (now with 108,000 miles)! They take ALOT of abuse. No dust, no noise, etc. I have done track days, daily driving for years! Try them, and you'll never switch again!

I like the DS2500 too. I am using them front and rear on my "eventually" daily Evo 8, with dba4000 rotors. Great braking, no noise and very low dust.

They can take some abuse at the track, too.

Without knowing something about how you plan to use the car, any recommendation is just a guess.

Since you didn't know that, I would recommend EBC reds. The break in sucks, but they are cheap, low dust, work cold, and are good for spirited driving. You can overheat them, but you have to be trying. They are less annoying than the DS2500 and have almost the same operating temperature range at half the cost.

I used stop tech pads on my Evo for daily driving and autocross. They're one of the best I've used.

I'm in the market for pads as well. How's the noise factor for stop tech's? I heard red stuff are noisy during break in but quiet after. The stop tech's are less expensive then red stuff, so I'm very interested in them if they are quiet.
