I really like the Girodisc S/S on my wife's car. Pretty low dusting, and they survived an excellent canyon thrashing thanksgiving morning with minimal friction fall off. With me driving the **** out of the car. Couldn't be more happy.

I bought some Girodisc S/S and I will be putting them on next week. Depending on how much time I have I might do a write-up on them paired with newfluid and rotors and lines too. I have heard good things from some Audi friends who drive their cars like theyre in the canyons all the time.

How about the Girodisc “magic pads”? I know S/S pads are compared to the DS2500 pads, which is what I have now. I’m more than likely not gonna be doing track days with this car. I’m more into drag strip on occasion and spirited driving on the weekends. I’m thinking the magic pads might be the right choice for me.

FWIW I've always used AutoZone brake pads for all daily driving/playing around duties. I don't do canyon/mountain driving or anything like that, though. Just some short, spirited jaunts on my local "fun" road (8 miles). They work fine, very little dust, and cheap. Not eating rotors is a bonus.
I wouldn't trust them for anything running downhill, though. I've had a set catch on fire, once.
