Ohlins or Zeals. I've got the Zeal V6 because they have ride height adjustment independent of preload and they are rebuildable right here in NorCal. With the damping on the softest setting, the ride is like a Mercedes with better grip than stock for the street. Dial it up and the ride is firm, but not jarring or bouncy. It corners so flat and neutral it is like a completely different car. No more push on corner entry, the front end just grips like glue.

I've driven one w/ function x and the ride was phenomenal! So I ordered a Xs unit for myself!

did you noticed significant improvement to wheel vibration and shaking. I'm hoping these coilovers would resolve this.

Function X ride was solid w/o any vibration or shaking, I was blown away!!!

I think many places carry them if you ask. I'm pretty sure Vishnu may be able to get you some.

Thank you for all the replies everyone.

As for Bulletproof auto, i have already checked into their stuff. After reviewing it, i decided that i do need to keep money aside for other parts of my car.

Suspension is going to be one of the largest selections for my car. There does come a point where i have to draw the line between necessary costs and totally absurd.

the Moton setup looks very appealing, but again i question if i would ever need them or have the skill level to make spending so much money justifiable. I manage a restaurant for god sakes.

i have ohlins with works camber plates, and 350front/425 rear springs. it rides better than stock with stocks on a softer setting. i would describe the ride as very similar to an m5 and better than an m3. i have also hit some serious potholes on winter ravaged NE roads, and the car just soaks it up. the harsh "crash" you get with the stock suspension just doesn't happen on big bumps, and holes. i wish i had gone with stiffer springs. the handling is much improved, I autocross, and I picked up about 2 seconds relative to the competition.

WORKS carries them: http://www.worksevo.com/store/index.php?cPath=26 If you have any questions about them, just let us know. We also carry ZEAL and can get Tein as well.

Back to the orginal post... if you're after the best performance and don't mind a slightly stiffer ride than stock while still keeping your budget relatively low, then the WORKS/ZEAL Function-X is probably your best bet. The feedback we get from those using them is always positive

who on here has these function XS, for one that is more street driven than track driven (1 to 3 times a year) would these be a good choice?? or are they going to completely blow on the track?

I've got the Ohlins Stage II from Works and they're awesome. Never a quality issue with Ohlins, and they're no more expensive than Teins, just better.

what did you pay for your Ohlins stage II? I'm still thinking that they are kind of pricey.

i'd like to hear what issues you have heard about buddyclubs... if you're not a frequent of socal evo you prolly don't know that mueller is having buddyclub supply him now instead of jic... so the quality issues should be solved.

i would say the zeals have a nutty amount of adjustability, so that's good as far as your reqs are concerned (that is the function x... the other one you shouldn't be considering per your reqs).

the ohlins may ride great... but you don't get **** for your money... for all the money you get the road and track version that gives you like 6 points of adjustment or something.

buddyclubs ride smoother than stock... all about valving.

jics are not as ruff as everyone says they are (at least not the ones from roadrace chassis)... once again... if you get them from mueller it's all about valving.

if you want the ultimate in adjustability... get the dms system.
