Brakes, Carbotech Bobcat Impressions

I wanted to share my impressions of these pads and to say thanks to all that did their write ups in the how to section. Helped me feel more comfortable changing out the pads.

Stock pads have 23,000 miles. The outer pads looked low. Glad I changed them now, the inner pads were even thinner, and they don't have the wear indicator. Could have meant new rotors if I had put 5000 more miles on the car.

I just got back from bedding them in. These feel like a definite improvement over the stock pad. I always thought stock was good. They are Brembos right? Well, I think these are an upgrade. After getting them warm, they felt to have a very strong/aggressive bite for normal driving. I'll put some more miles and let you know if this changes. I don't think it will.

I got them from Phil at DPE in Shawnee, KS I think his address is DPEweb.com or something like that.

Thanks Evolutionm.net

It's good they are working out for you... I have nothing good to say about the Bobcats on my Subaru 2.5GT. It will be interesting to see if they get noisy on you.

Interesting. I followed the guidance found in the How to section. I didn't resurface the rotors. I did clean the pins and the shim. I did apply plenty of antiseize to keep things quiet.

I noticed the factory pads had the copper antiseize paste on them, too.

Only a hundred miles so far, and no squealing. Sound like factory pads to me.

I'll be sure to answer back if I do start to get the squealing.

Still no squealing under normal daily use. Still like them after 2k miles.
