Best snow tires?

With winter in full force i thought i would ask everyone's opinion on which snow tire is the best overall.

I am getting my Blizzak lm 22s put on tomorrow and wanted to see if i chose wisely

I just picked up Blizzak LM 25's and so far they seem like an excellent choice. It was raining earlier and on the wet road, I noticed my car handled much nicer then on the stock advans. Cant wait till it snows so I can go try them out for real

You chose well, lm 22's are good tires for sure. However if you're going for the best overall snow tire, I'd say lm 25's!!!

A lot of guys on this forum have the WS-50, and it looks like they may be better in the snow than the LM-25. However, what happens when the snow melts and your back to pavement for a week or two at a time. The LM-25 will outperform.

That was my assumption when i bought the LM-25s. They had a much better rating on pavement, and it is not like it is always snowing here.

I just bought a set of Nokian Hakkapelliita 4s (studded), and couldnt be happier. We've got about 1' of snow on the ground, and a solid sheet of ice on everything. And these tires handle everything VERY well... I play alot while driving, and its alot harder than it should be to get the **** out there. Though...Im only running 15 psi right now. But still....

Hakka's ftmfw!!

Then again anything with Blizzak in the name is no slouch!

By the way... Charlie. Put about 10 more lbs or air in those shoes so you don't eat them up in one winter.

Very true. WS-50's are killer in the snow.

Yes, I am running those right now and find they are better than the WS-50 in slush and Ice but the WS-50 seemed a tad better in deep UN Plowed snow..

dunlop M3 -- you're either using them, or haven't tried them yet. simply amazing for a performance snow tire.

I just did a 900-mile (450 miles one way) road trip on my Blizzak WS-50's. It was dry the entire way, all of it was on Interstate roads. Once I got home I found that there was no snow anywhere around. I still wanted to have some fun with the car because, well, it's an Evo. The WS-50's felt fine up to around 115-125 MPH. Any hard braking from 80 MPH or above and it felt like the car was trying to crabwalk to a stop. Seriously, it felt like I was riding a bike in the middle of a tank-slapper. Hard turns at higher speeds was also a no-no. The car more or less "slides" when you try to corner hard at anything above 60 MPH.

It also feels like it's down on power. I'm sure this is due to wheel spin, as it sounds like there is some slipping going on (more like scrubbing then squealing as the Kuhmo Ecsta MX's do). By the way, don't buy the Kuhmo Ecsta MX's for a summer tire. They're trash.

Nobody's mentioned the new Blizzak, the WS-60. I'm getting a set for my Evo once its ready to hit the road.
