Looking for a nice drop

Hey guys! I had this swift sport spring installed in my Evo 9 MR, and I'm not really happy with the drop of my car, I mean it dropped a little bit but it's not good enough for me. Don't get me wrong the performance and handling is good but the drop didnt satisfy me at all.

What spring can give good drop in my Evo 9 MR?

So, you'd rather have springs that hurt your performance and blow your shocks just so that you can get a "look"? Is there a reason you got an Evo instead of a POS Civic that can be lowered and not lose performance, because it never had any to begin with? Springs are not for "dropping." They are for improving performance, and a lower stance is a SIDE-EFFECT of that attempt to improve performance. You seem to think springs are just for making your Evo look better...

It's a crying shame that there are truly Evo owners out there who care THAT MUCH about a "drop" that they don't mind hurting their car to achieve it. Amazing and disappointing...

Coilovers are the only option if you want to drop the car more and not destroy your shocks. Preferably double height adjustable coilovers.

And Warr is right, if you're dropping the car for looks, it will kill your performance. Evo's weren't built to be riced out.

What would you recommend to achieve a truly outstanding suspension in these cars?

I think I can answer that one. A custom Penske coilover setup is as good as it gets. Expect to spend 5-figures for something like that though. In the more affordable range, there's Moton, ZZYZX (Koni shocks) and Ohlins. The KW's are borderline.

ugh... If Teins dropped about a half inch less, they wouldn't look bad. My car has Tein S-techs (bought the car with them). There are days I don't even want to drive the car due to the springs....

Also keep in mine if you JUST installed your Swifts, they may still need to settle. Swifts look very nice as well as perform very well for a "lowering spring". Don't waste your time destorying your car.

DruMMinStUd06's car on Swifts.... Looks like a good drop to me... If I'm not mistaken,. these are the best performing "lowering springs" out there...

When I take the S-techs off my car, I thought about trying to sell them, bu I think I'll just throw them away instead...

Good luck.

Amen! I get so sick of people being so critical of the new guy. With over 19,000 posts you would think Warrtalon could help out instead of wasting everybody's time.

What are you saying "Amen" to? Dafarmer and I have known each other for a long time. He is agreeing with me if you pay attention. He then asks if I get sick of yelling at people. The answer is "yes." I don't know why you'd think there was anything to "Amen" there.

I don't waste people's time. My answer IS helping if you have a clue. Try to pay more attention in the future...

Thanks for what? He did nothing but respond to me in this thread - he offered no advice or help whatsoever. There is nothing to thank there unless you just like people to say what you like to hear. Sorry, you don't get far in life like that...

So, back to the point of the thread, do you want to do what's best for your Evo, or do you care more about your Evo "appearing" cool (only to non-Evo owners who don't know the difference)?

well..its the OP money, let him blow shocks if he wants to blow shocks...

like they are saying, spend the money on decent set of coilovers which will inturn give you a lower stance "drop".

i too hate wheel gap, but will wait till i can afford some coilovers instead of goin the spring route.....very bouncy and not to comfortable to drive if u ask me
