I'm curious if anyone has tried this for a brake duct solution?

<3 yes! JDavenport did some pre-fab on it. Anther used NACA ducts and the undertray. Better air from the front...however, that has nice scoops. I'd only worry in street use.

Agreed. IMO, it's best just to buy really high end high temp brake pads that WILL NOT fade. Fresh fluid will not boil at temps we get them too at the TRACK for gosh sakes. Just do your maintenance and "buy the right tool for the job". If you're heating your rotors up, that's cool but buy pads that handle the heat. Hawk DTC FTW

Sorry, but just track pads and good fluid isn't enough, at least it wasn't for me. I've boiled Castrol SRF with Hawk DTC-70s in less than 10 hot laps... and that was WITH cooling ducts.

IMO, based on my experience, sufficient cooling is paramount to keeping the Evo's front brakes working.

agreed but this piece screams CRUNCH to me, the ducts hang pretty low and seem flimsy, i may be wrong though as i have never seen this part in person

so what pads definitely DONT require the insane pedal pressure?

Ones that DO:
Ferodo ds2500
Hawk HPS
Stoptechs

Ferodos don't have the cold bite that OEMs did, but they don't fade like the OEMs did during auto-x either.. Magic pads would be perfect if they did perform better.. I guess I'll try stoptechs next? don't really wanna drop as much money as the rc5+ costs

Good Choices:
Satisfied GS5
RB ET500

That's what I have in my daily. Plus they have a lifetime warranty Swap them out every few months or weeks if you race I've also noticed these pads produce less brake dust then other pads I have seen.

Looking at ET500s for daily/autox, but wasn't able to get much feedback on how they wear on the rotors - any input here?

Buy another set of rotors? OReilly recently began carrying Bosch, and I believe I saw blank Wagners at Partsgeek. Actually, I got Centrics from partsgeek pretty cheap. They're wear and replace items for a DD

Just got new rotors, dba5000s in front and dba4000s in rear.. just wondering if the RB ET500s will eat them up or not

I'm in a X so it may not apply, but I didn't notice any difference in pedal pressure between my factory pads and the ferodo ds2500s. I had multiple track days on the OEM and ds2500s and I was pretty damn happy with the 2500s. They weren't super aggressive but they didn't fade like the OEMs did and still did a GREAT job of stopping for a 130+mph chicane towards the end of a session.

maybe its something else then, i get stopping power, as long as i REALLY push hard.. could be something else - either way, I think I'll try the RB ET500s this time around - supposedly better than ds2500s in every way for street/autox (not track)
