here is my experince with the porterfield R4 race pads.
Pros: they worked extremely well against fade. they are carbon based and make lots of dust but I didn't notice them damaging the finish of the wheels. they were also very rotor friendly. I also used them while driving on the way to the track and they worked even better than street pads even on the early cold morning but they squeek very loud.
Cons: they do not last long at all, ESPECIALLY if you have slotted rotors. Its like the soft pad material digs into the slots and every time a thin layer is sliced off. be carefull becuase you could actually run out of pads on a single track day and damage your rotors which happend to my buddies car
on standard flat rotors got 3 track days out of them

I'm about ready to change my brakes again due to pulsations. I'm currently running EBC redstuff, and they pulsate like crazy. This seems to be a common problem with EBC, as other people I know are getting pulsations even with greenstuff, on many different setups.
I would like to avoid breaking the bank, so if anybody has any good recommendations for a street/autocross setup that will give me OEM or better performance with little risk of rotor warpage please let me know what you use. At this point I'm thinking of the Girodisc slotted setup, the low weight compared to the other sets is nice, and price point isn't too bad.
Any suggestions?

Sorry, I used Rotor Warpage as a misnomer. I guess it would be material transfer, but either way, this is the second time this has happened with EBCs, and other people I know are having the same problem. I'm looking for a setup that will stop well, and not likely cause pulsation problems.
The ST-43's won't be to aggressive for a street setup? If not, I'll heavily consider them. Any suggestions for a suitable rotor to match?

First - figure out if it's your fault i.e are you asking the pads to do to much too frequently. Constant overheating past the pads suggested temp range or getting them too hot and holding the brakes at a stop will lead to repeat issues with most pads.
The Stotpech pads are good - but they do have a tendency to create judder.
The Ferodo DS2500's - while expensive and thus not as big a seller - are the one pad I have suggested pretty much since day one that only generated good feedback.
For rotors - Centric High Carbon's or DBA T3's.
