Planning to get 18x9 +29 rims very soon however I have read over and over (i know jack**** about rims/tire fitament) that 255/35 is the ultimate 18" tire. However the only tire I found that comes in that size that is "known" as a good tire is the SP2s and those are beyond overpriced imo and I refuse to pay for them.

As of right now I am planning to go with the RT615s at 245/40 but wanted to know if anyone had an alternative for 255/35 without paying basically double what I can get the RT615s for.

P.S. I know im a bad searcher, but I searched for even just "255" in the tire forum and really found nobody talking about companies and prices. If this really is searchable, by all means put me in my place and I will search harder.

245/40/18 is way too tall.

+1 to the others above, but if you have -your reasons- for 255s, I'll actually give an answer that you are asking for: Get the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec

Do a search and you'll see that they are probably the best 255 35 18 street tire you can buy right now.

That was my big thing behind going from 255/35 from 245/40 is that the price jump was huge..

Its not that I want to know what WILL fit, I wanted to know specifically which tires I might be able to get in 255/35 and now it seems also 265/35 without paying basically double the price of the RT615s.... But good link none the less!

So the info that the Z1s/others really make the RT615 the sucks, is good info. However from what I was reading, it seemed like these tires really didnt peform THAT much better, and considering you can find the RT615s for $600 shipped, paying $1000 shipped for Z1s seems a little steep. :X

Also, I am only going to be lowered on Swift Sports, which isnt that much of a drop, would a 255/35 or a 265/35 look too thin for my setup and put me back to looking 4x4?

My street tires are 235/45/17 255 or 265 would look good.

Dude, first off, the Z1's aren't marginally better than the 615's. They are leaps and bounds better! Especially in the wet. They are worth every penny. I run them now. In 255/35 18. On Advan 18x9+29. And lowered on Swifts. It doesn't look 4x4. It could be lower in the front, but that's really nit picking...

^Whoa Whoa! I happen to be jewish man....Just kidding. the 245/40 is .7 in taller than the 255/35 and .4 in taller than the stock wheel and tire combo. That being said, with the +29 offset I know people who run into rubbing issues in the rear....even on swifts. Hear is a link with the 245/40 on 18x9+29 with swift combo.
