Questions About My Dream Setup
Questions About My Dream Setup
Okay so this is the setup that I want:
Volk CE28 Time Attacks (Black with red lip) 18x9.5 +34 offset with 255/35/18 tires.
I know this setup fits perfectly on a stock ride height Evo without the need to roll/shave the fenders. Now the problem is I want to switch out the stock springs to some Swift Spec Rs, and they lower the car pretty aggressively (1.4 inch drop in the front, .8 inch drop in the back). I'm pretty sure I will need to roll/shave the fenders if I switch out my stock springs to the springs I want.. But here is my question:
What is the difference between shaving and rolling fenders? All I really know is that rolling your fenders (if done incorrectly) can cause your fenders to warp and/or wrinkle. But all I read about in these forums are fender rolling and not shaving. Does fender shaving have a worse consequence? Or is it more expensive? Someone please enlighten me on this subject, thanks in advance EvoM.
P.S. Quickie question, will I FOR SURE need to roll my fenders with my dream setup? I'm pretty certain that I would need to, but I'm not COMPLETELY sure.

Haven't heard of shaving fenders, but rolling will massage the metal away from the tire/wheel combo via a roller tool. You can see the fender rolling tool here Fender Lip Roller. I would recommend the roll rather than shaving as it's less evasive. Once you shave metal off the fender it's a lot harder to correct than reshaping what's already there.
