repaint breaks

this seems like something thats been posted here before but i did search and only found one poast from 06 that didnt have the info i want.

all of my brakes are pealing and are now a rust/ox pink color. i got a wet rag and kinda buffed at one and the wet part was still not red so i dont think a simple re-clear will do the trick.
im looking for someone thats repainted theres and wondering if what they used has held up well. Ive seen high temp brembo stickers on ebay and i was wondering if anyone have used them and how they held up. if the stickers are crap, anyone know of theres a stencel that i can get for cheep? used or something? also im about to change the break pads and i want to paint the calipers at the same time so i want to repaint them without takeing them totaly off so i dont have to bleed the breaks. has anyone done this? any tips? ive never done anything like this before

haha here you are:

you need to use a 400grit sand paper. a wet rag wont cut it.

i need to do this to my brakes!! so you just lightly sand the calipers with 400grit and then paint over everything with the clear coat?

if you want to repaint you will have to remove stickers, order new ones. you will be putting a few coats of new paint, then brembo stickers then clearcoat, or you can get 1 coat of clear, put on stickers and add a second coat of clear

yes, i sanded around the logo really carefully.

how is it holding? that im not sure yet because i havent driven my evo after i did the DIY. its such a garage queen right now.

but you know what? its worth a try. if it doesnt satisfy you, go ahead and paint the brembos'.

edit: here are some before and after pics for your enjoyment. hahah

Also did this over the weekend. Need to sand around the brembo logo because it will will fade if you don't. Peeling or chipping away some of the clear will save you some time in sanding.

It's america; we demand you speak our language, though we may not do so, or may not even know it at all. Thank god for the internet; the maker of this thread just got something no school has yet to give him: the correct way to spell and use the word BRAKE.

Now back to the thread topic: mine were peeling, and I have a IX, I had them replaced under warranty. I have heard that pretty much any EVO that has an existing warranty can get their peeling BRAKES replaced for free. If you're out of your warranty, search. I have spotted numerous thread of people's DIY brake caliper paint jobs.
