Rear sagging on Swift springs?

Has any one experienced this? I have an 06 IX MR and it seems that my rears have been sagging and have been rubbing alot more than normal? I have swift spec r springs. The gap between my rear fender and tire have been more noticeably smaller too. My question is, could my springs be sagging or could my rear struts be bad?

Thanks
Mike

Can you get a picture of this?

Sounds like rear struts could be out. Mileage on them?

Struts shouldnt affect ride height, should they?

If blown they wont push back. So the spring is doing all the work.

struts dont effect ride height. they dampen the spring oscilations.

If they have no charge left in them, then they can droop. I would take the wheel off and check for leaks around the shock, check the spring for cracks, and perches for damage. Check all bolts too.

A massive bottoming out situation can kill any strut/shock. Its more rare to do it to the rear, but doable.

Yes they do affect ride height.
The gas pressures in shocks adds to the spring rate.

The shocks are blown buddy. I can almost guarantee that they are not the springs. I've seen Swift springs abused a hundred times worse than just daily driving without sag.

If anything pull the springs out and contact swift they will give you the dimensions of the rear spring, and simply measure it up. If it is the spring I'm sure they will warranty it.

yea there is probably something wrong with your rears. is it only one side or both. I would do what smike tells you as he is THE EvoM suspension guru. I've never heard of the Swifts sagging.

i started sagging in the rear with spec r's and just replaced the rear struts. problem solved! back to normal. the rears showed no signs of oil or anything, but compressing them all the way it would take 15 seconds to fully rebound. struts had 82,000 on them.

screw the springs, get coilovers. Springs are always going to sag , you'll never be happy with the drop. Spend some extra money and get a set of coilovers. my .02

This is bad advice. What is this based on? (PS - the stock Evo has coilovers.)

By your logic all springs sag, guess what - coilovers have springs too.

Swifts do not sag. Other brands might. There is a difference in materials used on the Swifts.

Op did new struts fix your sag?
I didn't feel like making a new thread so figured bumping a 5 year old thread was ok.

It's minimal but noticeable to me Name: 313D5BD1-D943-4A44-B2DD-2A6E2CB5F7E8.jpg

I replaced my rear struts (that had swift sport springs on em) that had 100k miles on them last night with a set of used rear struts(swapped the swift over to these) that had about 30k on them. When I pushed the strut rod down on 100k mile struts, they still were kinda hard to push in and they came back out slowly. I tested how fast they came out compared to the 30k mile struts and the 30k mile struts rod came out a little faster and all the way to the top. The struts with 100k miles almost came back out all the way but didn't. Maybe stopped an inch before it reached the top and stopped.

Now did I notice any difference when replacing the rear struts? Well I'm not sure. Initially I thought the rear was very very slightly higher but still wasn't sure. Bigger test will be how the rear reacts at autocross at this point. But I did get a thud on some speed bumps so I'll have to see how the rear reacts those those.

But compared to your screenshot our cars look to be at almost the same height. I could take a picture of how my car sits currently if you wanted to compare.
