Bolt on wheel spacers with extended lugs

Hey All,

I plan on tracking my car more and I'm fixing some damage from my first track day.

I use 20mm bolt-on spacers in the front and I'm putting arp extended studs on.

I assume that I'm supposed to install the extended studs onto the spacers but I want to be sure.

Also, assuming I'm going to be putting the studs on the spacers, how should I go about getting the studs out? Would I be better off using a vice and hammer or taking them to a machine shop?

Thanks!

Press out the studs that are on the spacers, and install the ARP in place of the studs on the hub....get it?

You mean put the arp on the spacers?

"press out" I don't have a press, is that the only realistic way to get the studs out without damaging the spacers?

The ARPs replace the ones on the wheel hub. You need to get slip-on spacers then, and not use the bolt-on spacers

Can I press out the studs on the spacers and just use them without bolting on? That might have been what the first responder meant, actually.

Thanks!

Get a ball joint separator tool at Harbor Freight. They cost ~$20, and you can press the current studs out without taking the hub off. It may also work on the bolt-on spacers to get the studs out, but I would not fool with it and get some slid on spacers.

With ARP extended studs you will not need bolt-on spacers ( I think they are bs anyway). Slid the spacer on and you're good.

...This thread is 3 years old........................................

In any case, I bought bolt on spacers and pressed the studs out so I could use them as slip on.

Bumping this one more time.

After you removed the studs from the bolt on spacers did you take any pictures? If so can you please post them?

I have bolt on 20mm ichiba spacers that im using for my rpf1 race wheels. Id like to remove the built in studs and then run extended arp hardware in the hub. Id like to know how this has worked out for you.

I've done it with both 15mm and 25mm Ichiba spacers. I can take some pics.

are you guys doing this just based on the fact that you already have the bolt on spacers and want to switch? I'm under the assumption the bolt on spacers cost a lot more than a slide on spacer.

I couldn't find a 25mm slip-on other than the Cirodesign ones (which cost $270/pr). The Ichibas I bought were only $130 on ebay. Maybe I just didn't look hard enough.

Motorsport-tech sells custom spacers to any thickness you like for about 150 per pair. Very nice quality.

That is good info but now I already have the bolt on ones. If I can just press out the studs that would be the best bang for the buck. I just need to know if the spacer gets damaged during this process. Pics would help me decide.
