I normally drive on cold and dry roads in the Chicago suburbs, with several days of quality winter weather..
Normally, I'm Mr Blizzak, I've had LM-22's and LM-25's both tires were excellent in the snow and slush and ice. They were a little squirmy when you cornered hard but nothing you couldn't adapt to. Excellent compromise between winter and dry handling. They also lasted 35,000 miles.
But this year it looks like the LM-60 is more tuned to the winter weather performance as opposed to the dry cold performance. (Good news for those of you up north!)
But I'm looking for dry performance, especially handling, with good winter performance.
I know that either one of these is a winner, especially the Wintersport 3D.
Anyone have some seat time or better yet owned both?
Sorry for the cross Posting.

Thanks

Ive driven the Michelins. Pretty awesome in the snow. Dont have any other snow tire to compare too. Ive driven some nasty roads in a foot of snow at 80 mpg from NYC to northern VT Passing 4x4s with ease all the way up.

I'm running Dunlop Wintersport 3D's right now (265s) and the traction at 50 degrees and below is pretty damn impressive. On warmer (upper 60's) days I can feel a very slight squirreliness, but nothing compared to Blizzacks I've run in the past, which inspired 0 confidence at pretty much all temps. Sorry no Michelin experience.

I have the dunlop winter sport 3D on my X right now. Very happy with the dry road performance so far.

I've had Wintersport 3Ds. Good tire. Developed for German use and made in Germany.

I'd have to say the fav in those conditions is the Dunlop. Typically if people are going for the more sport based snow tire they will lean toward the Dunlop.

I drive in Chicago as well but I've been running the wintersport m3's. These are the predecesors to the 3D, and this will be my 5th season on these tires. I'm pretty sure they still have a lot of meat left. Set the acd to snow and you will have completely neutral steering in the dry. The tread has a great directional pattern. Driving in the snow is like driving in the rain, you feel like you have too much confidence, lol. I'm curious to see how how these compare to the 3D's though. OP, Dunlop ftw
