18x9.5 +10 with Michelin PS4S in 255 35 18 (possibly needs spacers all around, but I'm not sure how much...)

or

18x9 +30 with Michelin PS4S in 255 35 18 (may still need spacers to clear the brakes)

Backup set up:

18x9.5 +22 Gram Lights 57DR with Michelin PS4S in 255 35 18 (would the +38 offset look just as aggressive and be easier to fit???)

I prefer the deep dish/concave look if I can pull it off. What are your thoughts? Is it worth it to go more aggressive or should I stay safe and go with the offset that will be easier to work with?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!
  1. The first set at 18x9.5 +10 should not be considered. offset is way too shallow unless youre running overfenders
  2. The 2nd set look Ok at 18x9 +30. Will need a tight fender roll for sure due to the +30 offset. The fact that they are 9" helps in fitment vs a 9.5" wheel
  3. The 3rd set at 18x9.5 +22 will work but due to the +22, serious rear fender work required. Fender roll, fender pull & bumper bolt relocation will be needed
Any questions, please let me know

Thank you sir!! You've been a great help!! I'm still a little torn on the Cosmis vs Gram Light (mainly for looks)...lol

If I decide to go with the Gram Lights 57DR 18x9.5 +38, would it give it a similar aggressive look like the 18x9.5 +22 and would it fit a lot better?

Did a little forum searching & found these 2 images (18x9.5 +38 & +22). They appear to have the same concave face but its hard to tell for sure. Usually the lower offset wheel (i.e. +22) would have the more aggressive concave face vs the +38, but thats not always the case. (please note: can not guarantee these images are accurate. Just based on what the forum post noted)

Aside from the concaveness of the face, the +22, due to the more extreme poke, would have the better look IMO.

For sure the +38 would be a breeze to fit the in the rear of the EvO. The +22 is very tough but doable if the required rear fender work is done. If you are not comfortable w/fender pulling & bumper bolt relocating, i would recommend the +38 for sure

Any other questions, please let me know

Joe

Hey hello

Im running that same spec & yes a fender roll at the min will be needed. I run a 265 wide tire on my 17x9 +30 & had to do all the rear fender tricks (roll, pull, bumper bolt relocation)

So, it will depend on tire choice. The standard size would be a 255/40 in which a tight rear fender roll will be needed.

Regarding spacers, that will depend on what wheel is being used. Front spacers are common but rear spacers are rarely used

If you have other questions, let me know

Spacers for MR BBS Rims?

Hey everyone,

Im looking to get spacers for my car and not sure what will work. I've searched around and saw some run 20mm with rolled fenders. Although I like that look, I dont really want to roll my fenders My plan is to run 10mm spacers all around, but not sure if they will rub, or how they'll look. Any advice would be awesome, thanks!

Well, adding a 10mm all around will net +28 on a 8" wheel. Running a 245/40, i believe you will definitely need a rear roll

As far as looks, the extra 10mm of poke will look great

Wheel fitment

I’ve been wanting to buy these rims for some time now but the problem is that the centerbore of the wheel is 73mm while my Evo has a centerbore of 67mm. Is there a way for the rim to fit perfectly or am I gonna have to get something to help it fit. The wheel I’m getting is 17x8 with a 35mm offset, 5x114.3, and a 73mm cb.

You are looking at a wheel that is very modest in size, but will fit very well in the EvO rear end

You will need hub centric rings to make up that hub bore size diff. The alum rings are the best, but the composite rings work OK as well

Hi, guys I ma gonna purchase a set of wheels for mainly street but also suitable for track day. I think the SBC coating is very sexy but I got a problem with sizes. By my own research, there are 17*9 +45, 17*8.5+30,17*9.5+18,17*9+22 and 18*9.5+15. My Evo9 mr has stock suspension and no fender roll for now. As far as I know, my local shops don't offer any fender roll service. I m ok with spacer but just don know what size should I purchase. I want ran the R888 tire for summer time and most likely prefer the 255/40 size. So which one should I buy. Please help, thank you very much.

The track day setup on the RPF1 is mostly the 17x9.5 +38 w/a 20mm front spacer

Figure on rolling the rear fender due to the 9.5" width & the 255 tire

Any questions, please let me know

Its going be very close. If you end up w/the 17x9.5's you can always do a test fit, but pretty sure you will be super close

We cant afford any rub

The 17*8.5 seems ok but will a 255 tire fit it?

Yep, no problem. A 255 is the max size recommended for the 8.5" wheel.
