Just keep in mind, that the 8.5" +30's have a diff face than the wider wheel (some guys dont like it)

And you will definitely need a roll w/the +30

Here they are:

Omg pls no fender roll... so sad. Any other recommendations for wheels? Which can meet the tire and also light?

You have to get the roll to fit these wider wheels w/the wide rubber

Heres my ride w/the following: 17x9.5 +30 running a 265/40 tire ( a lot of rear work to get this to fit correctly)

+22 someone said a 5mm spacer up front only, but was close.

17x9.5 et18 clears front but is close to fender, the rear sticks out pass fender (no spacer setup)

17x9.5 et38 needs 20mm spacer (essentially being a et18) and fits perfectly in rear.

of course fender work is needed, mainly tire dependent.
Sorry to ask, is 17*9.5 et 18 gonna work without fender rolling?

Thats the reason for the RPF1 +38 in the rear (again its possible to fit 255 rubber w/this wheel w/out a roll. (its close). Ive heard the R888's run wide!

When you run the +38 in the rear & run the +38 up front w/the 20mm spacer it turns the +38 into a +18 up front . Example: 38 - 20 = 18. No way the +18 will fit right in the rear (too much poke to fit correctly)

Thanks man,

I m very into rpf1 sbc now but only few size option for me now ,17*8.5 +30 17*9 +45 (also +22 I believe but hard to find now) 17*9.5+18 or 18*9.5+38. I want a flush view and most likely no fender roll since all the local shop has no such service. Which one should I choose? Prefer 255 tires for track day use.

I m new here, very appreciate ur help

There are certainly body shops that are experts on rolling. Its not that big of a deal. Most of us, here, on the boards have had the work done

If you have other questions, let me know & hope to see you out here on the boards often

Advan rz flush fitment

Hello fitment gurus

I'm looking to buy a set of Advan rz's for my IX but I'm unsure what offset to go with. I want them to be flush without having to roll the fenders and definitely no rubbing. Car is still on stock suspension but I plan to get coilovers eventually. I am thinking 18x8 or 18x9.
I bought a set of 18x9 +25 and I absolutely hate it. There's an insane amount of rubbing on the wheel well plastic. They also stick out from the body quite a bit which I'm not looking for on my car.
Thanks!

Hey alright, welcome aboard

Yeah, The right wheel choice is a tough recipe to find. From my chair, wheel fitment is certainly a compromise, meaning you have to be willing to give some things up (i.e. rolling fenders etc)

A general feel for a non rear roll wheel spec would be (IMHO)
  • 18x8 / 18x9 +34 to +38 (depending on tire size)
  • 17x8 / 17x9 +34 to +38 (depending on tire size)
One of the best wheels that required little work was the 5zigen FN01R 17x9 +35 (see pic)

Not even sure if they are still avail? (please consider rolling those rear fenders)

Yeah, the 17x9 is a good size wheel for the EvO. There are many that used the TE37 17x9 +22. This size will work but needs a fair amount of rear fender work to fit correctly (roll, pull & bumper bolt relocation)

I havent studied up on these wheels in a while, but if you dont want that level of rear fender work, go up in the offset. For example 17x9 +29 to +34. Let me know what offsets you find & i can work that up on the calculator & give you a better feel for what is needed to fit

I am looking at +40 offset and have stock height suspension if that matters, and i would prefer not to use spacers or modify fenders if possible. i previously had 255/40 on stock rims and i wanted to keep that same tire size if possible.

+40 is a very safe offset & is 2mm further inboard than stock. This will fit the rear no problem running that 255/40

But, no way these TE37 will fit the front w/out a spacer. W/out a test fit or finding someone who has done this, the spacer size is unknown. Being that its a +40, the spacer would likely be very large & may not be doable. Anything over 25mm should not be used IMO

I recommend a diff wheel. See if you can find a 5Zigen FNO1R (17x9 +35). Theres a pic of it on post no. 3986. Let me see if i can find anyone whos run this +40
