Awesome thanks for the reply! this is what's going on. I'm looking for a set of wheels so I can actually drive my car around again. now its on a a set if drag tires and 17x 8.5 +40 pfo1s with a 15mm up front. and I feel bad putting miles on it wrecking the tires so I need another set to swap. If I end up with a +38 odds are I wouldn't have to remove the spacers to swap the wheels.

I really wanted some rpf1s but bummed I can't get the size that would work well in black or SBC. I emailed about every wheel dealer and they only made them in +38 in special batches

Imo I like the way the gram lights look just wish there were more people who have ran them on the Evo. They are modestly priced and decently light maybe I'll give them a shot. . I'm open to ideas that won't brake the bank for a RR Evo!

Would you consider running a set of ROTA's? P45R / 17x9.5 +30 (no front spacer needed). Here they are if interested

I have nothing against rota I just don't like the look of the 45r or the grids or even the te37s.for that matter. I must be the only one haha.

I have a lead on a set of 18x9.5 + 38 SBC rpf1 hopefully it works out. I just hate how the + 18 + 15 fits in the rear

No prob. Understand

Yeah, try and avoid that +18 rear. That will never fully clear & is really only a show offset. No amount of rear fender work can make that low offset work

18 x 9.5 + 38 SBC rpf1. From oakos automotive. They have a few sets coming over so I got my name on a set. I think it's a pretty popular STI size

18x10.5 +38
285/30/18

20mm spacer works fine, but would like the front wheels to stick out less. I stacked two 5mm to get 10mm and got the results below. You think this is enough? Trying to decide between getting 10, 12 or 15.

That first pic looks tight but the 2nd pic (taken at a diff angle) looks like there is enough clearance.

The lower strut, as pictured, moves in unison w/the tire so i think it works. Remember, the tire flex occurs at the bottom so when it reaches the top, the tire, should return to normal.

Definitely check as you run it, but the first drive, taking some corners & such should prove this out

Wow, w/the wheel spec for sure. 10.5" w/the 285 is on the very aggressive side & personally think thats great!

Just tried to put on my 18x9.5 +38 rpf1 with a 20mm up front that I waited 3 months to get. Everywhere I read said they fit fine the 20 MM. but I have about 1 mm clearance between caliper and spoke I assume that's way too close and
I shouldn't drive it.. don't really wanna add more and make it poke more but I don't see another choice. I can fit like 3 playing cards in the gap

Are you sure you got +38? I bet you got +45 which is what I had with a 20mm spacer and the gap was exactly like that. It ran fine for several years, 40k miles, but it was scary to look at.

Yeah, although ive never run these wheels, the common theme has always been the 20mm spacer

2-3mm or .090 min is what is considered safe clearance. Keep us posted please on your choice

I should have gone with 255 35 18s instead of 255 40 18s as they are rubbing a bit during turns. I'll probably let it self clearance the liners and leave the spacers untill I decide to do some tracking then I'll grab some 22mm spacers to make sure I have that 3mm gap.
