Does the 9.5” width mean my rear quarters are going to need to be pulled/bolt relocated?
Thats an amazing wheel!

No, the +38 actually helps in fitment & is our stock OEM offset (17x8 +38). You can certainly fit these up w/out rolling, as there maybe proper clearance. The difference, of course, is the 9.5" width over the stock with of 8" so there will more wheel outboard than stock. Pulling will not be needed with this wheel!

You will still have to confirm whether a front spacer is needed. Volk has nice arced spokes, but not all of their wheels fit over the front Brembos

In an effort to get you a quick answer: Been working w/AT for a few months so I have some info. He's running Fortune Auto 500's. Here's a pic of his current front wheel end

hey guys.. sorry had a busy weekend. So to add to what Joe said, this version of the TE is actually a bit different in design compared to the SL and standard TE37... so it actually allows for more conservative offsets to better work with our cars as well as more variations of concave on the spokes. The 18x9.5 +38 actually does NOT clear up front but the +31 do. If you get the +38, you will need an 8 mm spacer and end up with an effective offset of +30 up front which is totally doable. Both offsets appear to share the same spoke face(Face 3) and on the +31, the pad height (or backspacing) is just added to lower the offset. Post some pics if you do decide to go with these. I am in middle of switching exhausts on my car so I will get a pic of the entire car once this is done later this week.

SO much good info. Thanks, Astro Train!

I'm leaning towards the TE37's in a +38, but now that I know they need a spacer I'm also considering a fallback alternative...

Does the brain trust think that these would fit without work?

18x9.5 ET+38 Rays Gram Lights 57DR or perhaps even the 8.5" version...

There are not many wheels that fit the EvO front w/out a spacer. I wouldnt let the front spacer thing stop you. Years ago, I consciously searched out only 17's that did not require a spacer & went that route. I feel differently about spacer usage now

The +38 will fit very nicely w/out much work. Depending on tire size, likely no rear roll will be necessary

this wheel will actually be more difficult to fit because it is an older design than the SAGAS and the offsets offered are +22 that clear the Brembos up front WITHOUT a spacer. So if you went with the +38 you would need a larger spacer. Gramlights in this size for the most part have the same face. Only backspacing changes. The TE37 and its several variants (SL/RT/Saga) are offered in several configurations. I speculate Rays does this as it is their original forge wheel and it is in higher demand than their Gramlights line.. Unless you looking at cost (and I do not blame you), go with the Sagas. They are engineered better, and the +31 size would fit just right on an Evo 8/9. The 57DR in +22 will require fenders work in the rear. The +38 like I mentioned will require a fairly large spacer.

Subscribed! In the market for some new rims & tyres soon. Looking at staying 17s and hoping i can squeeze a 255 or 265 under my car without guard work or spacers (if possible)

There are almost no worthy 265/40/17 tyre choice in the market right now
Better off going with 265/35/18 if you want to get 18" to fit

Some of us are using the Federal EVO 595's 265/40/17's (they work very well on the street)

Thank you sir
I own an Evo 9. I dare say my tyre choice is already sorted and i will probably be chucking some Hankook RS4's on as im pretty sure they do a 17×255? I currently have RS3's on the car and i was more than happy with their performance.

Well depending on your wheel choice & offset that will tell us if your rear gaurds will need work. If the wheels have less than +38 of offset, its very likely a rear roll, at the minimum, will be needed

Let me know the spec & can give you an opinion on the work needed
