I already know in the future I will be buying the voltex widebody kit. I've searched and couldn't find much info on this in any threads regarding wheels or the body kit itself. My question for those already sporting the voltex kit is what size/offset wheels are u guys running? And which did u get first the kit or your wheels. I want wheels on my evo 8 now, but I don't want to run wheel spacers when I install the kit. And if I get wide wheels now I would run into rubbing or "bull dog" my car. I don't want to buy wheels twice. Please help! Pictures would help greatly as it will give me an idea of what the offset will look like with the brake clearance vs. How close it is to the fender. Thanks.

just get super agressive big wheels now, roll your rear fenders and get the evodave front fender mod. I would look in to an 18x10.5 +15... you are going to have to run a little stretch, but there is nothing wrong with that (even cyberevo does). the part you roll for the rear will be cut off when you put the voltex kit on.... and camber is your friend

Could u explain what the evodave front fender mod is or point me in the direction of a thread that's described in? And how much stretch on the tires are we talking bout? Tire size? I'm completely in the dark. When it comes to wheel fitment offsets and anything to do with this matter.

I run 18X9.5 +22 with a 8mm spacer and 275 tires on my Voltex Kit.

^any pics by chance? Did u run with these wheels before having ur kit and then just install the spacers or did u wait until u had the kit installed to run them?

The best looking+fitting size for voltex fenders would be 18x10.5 +15 to +18 offset. with either 265/35/18 tires or 275/35/18. Buy the wheels first, then the kit. like said above, flare the fronts with evo dave kit and roll/pull the rears. Who cares if the rears crack or turn out bad when rolling them, they will be cut eventually. And the rubbing will be incentive to buy the kit sooner.

^I would care if the rears cracked when rolling them since if I buy wheels first it will be showing and me rolling like that. Kinda pointless to put wheels on to make a car look better but screw the body up before having the kit to cover it up. And the rubbing being incentive ya quite a bit knowing that it could possibly and eventually lead to a blow out or excessive tire wear which could potentially be dangerous and expensive in the long run. I only want to do this once and want it done right the first time.

Is there any reason why I would not be able to run a 17x 9.5 with meaty tires?

I know this is a old thread and I apologise to hijack it.
I have purchased the voltex superstreet kit with over fenders, it hasn't been fitted yet.
Am I right in thinking that this size wheel is the correct fitment/offset with overfenders? Any help appreciated as I am a total noob when it comes to wheel fitment.

Yeah that setup will work with the Voltex kit.

Anything in the 10" range will be good. Here is mine 4 years later after making this thread. Kit consist of voltex quarters and picked up a set of garagehrs fronts. might be going to doluck wide front fenders in the near future. as for the wheel setup pictured are a cheap set of XXR 531 18x10 +25mm offset. I also have 25mm spacers on all 4 corners, but only required in front for clearance to the brembos. tires are Bridgestone potenza RE11 255/35/18.

I have the overfenders as well front and rear to go on mine, so I'm thinking of getting a set of CE28 18x10.5 et18. running either 265x35 or 275x35 rubber. Do you think that will work?

should be alright, but may run into a little rubbing in the front when you go upwards near 275's. that will depend on the side skirt, and you may have to hammer the pinch weld inside the fender well flat.
