Girodisc Ultralight Rotor Alternative

Looking for an alternative to the Girodisc Ultralight Rotors. Fantastic performance, but they just wear out too quickly. Any other recommendations for stock sized rotors?

What application are you using them for?
Why do you think they are wearing out so far?
What friction compound are you using?
What temperature are they getting up to?

Question How do you know they are wearing out?

I am interested because I recently powder-coated my brembos and was considering girodisc later?
  • You can replace the rotor part without the hat that is cheaper.
  • I heard that brembos may or may not hold up under high braking and would have to upgrade the fronts to something bigger?

Just to be clear, he's talking about the Girodisc Ultralite rotors, which are special order, not the standard Girodisc two-piece rotors that are sold everywhere.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...or-review.html

They start out life substantially thinner than the standard two-piece rotors.

Jeremy, I'd look into the Baer Eradispeed 2pc. They're not quite as light as the Ultralites, but they're lighter than all the other 2pc rotors. I think they may be hard to find though...

Ugh, disregard. I didn't realize this is a 3 year old thread that had been bumped... The OP doesn't even own an Evo anymore, I forgot.

What would be the difference between
Baer Eradispeed and regular girodisc rotors?

Sounds like lightweight girodisc don't hold up as well?

I think the Baer Eradispeeds have been discontinued for the Evo 7-9....double check with them though to be sure
