45mm offset and spacers ??

Okay.. 17x8 with 45mm offset RPF1 on an VIII ?? And what's the widest tire I can run? I was thinking 255/40 ??

I have stock wheels now but want to bring the wheels out of the wheelwell a little bit.. Not sure what offsets do what and I hate scrolling through pictures trying to find what looks good...

Ok, edit.. stock is 17x8 38mm offset ? so a 17x8 45mm offset will set the rims deeper into the wheel well? Not quite what I want so I would need to run spacers to achieve my goals, Correct ? 15mm spacer in front and say a 20mm spacer in the rear should get me good looks ??

1) You can run 255 in theory. But you'll have a "donut" style wheel. Bad for driving, handling and acceleration.

2) You can throw in spaces but resulting wheel mass would increase. What use in lightweight rim in such a case?

Just sell the wheels to Subaru owners and get something Evo-rated IMHO of course.
