EBC Pads: Redstuff

Have any of you guys had an issue with excessive squealing from them? Did you use the shims that came with the EBC's or did you guys use your stock shims?

Most of the time squealing is due to improper bedding (unless the pads are a dedicated track pad known to be loud).

Were your rotors new or freshly turned before adding the new pads?

If your rotors were not new/freshly turned, do so now.

If your rotors were new/freshly turned, you can take a bit of sand paper (fine grit) to remove any brake compound from the rotors and then re-bed in the pads.

Yeah they were brand new rotors. I took the pads out last night and took off the brake compound that was used and put some new compound on the shims and reinstalled them. They're still squealing pretty bad. I guess I'll have to rebed them. I didn't know if they were supposed to use the stock shims because I noticed on the fronts, the pistons were hanging off the shim just a little bit.

EBC is garbage IMHO. No bite, they dont last long, theyre just sub par

Yellows and blues are good. I'm not happy with the red's, they eave uneven deposits on the rotor, and cause vibration. I've had the rotors resurfaced twice, and rebedded the pads both times since I installed them. And each time I've ended up with braking vibration in the steering wheel that gets worse the hotter you get them. The yellows barely did it, and the blues my friend has don't do it.

A guy with ONE track event at laguna seca just posted this up about yellowstuff. I would never use them.

They are hardly a track pad for a heavy car. They last 15K mile and 10-12 autocross events on my car. I have Raybestos ST43's and a different set of rotors for the track...

I just rebedded them, again. It is only the rears that are making a god awful squeal when close to coming to a stop. If they start squealing again, then I'm probably going to yank these out and replace. Its almost kind of embarassing.
