Picked up a vacuum bleeder from harbor freight http://www.harborfreight.com/brake-b...kit-69328.html

I tried for over an hour going through multiple bottles of fluid. Air keeps coming out along with the fluid, but it's also not leaking anywhere else that I can tell. I started in the back on the passenger side, but since that got me nowhere I also tried the other calipers with the same results. I just can't get the air out and I have no idea why. Can anyone help me?!?

I know that I had an awful lot of air after all my calipers were off as well. My friend couldn't believe how much came out and when it finally seemed it was good, I went for a drive came back, and more air came out again. If the fluid is new and in good shape that's coming out maybe you can put it back in? Just don't run it low in the reservoir or you have a bigger bleeding task! Hope you get it figured out !
Edit - also I stayed with the traditional pump and bleed with a friend. And I assume you have your car running when doing this right??

When I was doing the two man method, the car was not running. I didn't that that it needed to be? Also, when I used the vacuum pump, again the car was not running. I made sure to keep the reservoir topped off every chance I got. In retrospect, I could have used a clean container and recycled the clean fluid coming out, but at the time I didn't think of it.

Regardless, instead of spending hours of frustration out in the yard expending time and energy, I decided to take it to a local shop I trust to get the bleeding done and done right. Brakes are pretty important I hear, so this way I'll be 100% confident everything works when it's done. I'll be curious to hear how it goes bleeding the brakes at the shop. I'll be sure to post up.

Just a quick update: I took the car to a local shop that I trust and they used a power bleeder to get all the air out. They told me there was A LOT of air left in the system.

thanks for posting this project. I'm going to have to do similar for mine as I think I have a sticking caliper and this is a good resource.

Glad to help! Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have during the project. All in all it was a simple project.

I used the power bleeder on my car and it worked great. One thing I did notice was that air seemed to be getting through the bleed screw and showing up in the line, basically making me think air was still trapped in the system. When tightening the bleed screw slightly it disappeared.

Calipers look great!
